Not necessarily. The point of the show was to show us a ''world'' with characters that weren't governed by political correctness or people that took life too seriously. Whenever he sees people get positive feedback for actually giving a shit and do the right thing, Lisa in particular, he tries to appropriate or exploit their good-naturedness for his own means in the hopes of getting some sort of capital, social or otherwise. What he, and many narcissists, don’t get is that Lisa doesn’t act like a good person for social capital, she does it because she genuinely cares and because people can recognize that, they react more positively to when she goes out of her way to help people and less negatively when she admits she made a mistake. Zack doesn’t get this. He thinks that after being a terrible person he should be entitled to the same respect from his peers that Lisa and Jessie and Slater and Kelly manage to get without realizing its *because* they care about others’ well-being and admit their mistakes they’re admired, not because they go through the motions of niceties in order to get some reward they feel obligated to. This silly comedy series is surprisingly insightful.

@@Jman2113 What actually happened was that ZACK was throwing a party for LESLIE. He tried to get a dance with her but fails. MIKE catches him and ZACK lies saying that it’s a study group but gets caught with a beer 🍺 ZACK and the group had three options: leave the dorm, curfew, or do a research project. ZACK again tried to speak for everyone and get dissed by them, especially LESLIE. He sets up a raffle contest to entice all the freshmen on campus to fill out a questionnaire instead of doing it MIKE’s way. MIKE saw this con game and sets him straight making sure that a PRIZE was awarded, and ZACK paid the biggest price by paying for it. So he had to work for the money to pay for the trip.
