I noticed the Musical is a lot more comedic than the movie. Like the ballroom part in the movie was very emotional but in the musical it’s def made to make you laugh

How is it possible that 2 films collides with each other ? Between Dorothy’s dream in Oz and what happened before it happened . Like for example , who was under the house before it landed , did Fiyero became scared of a lighted match , did boq rusted himself with rain etc . ?

My prediction is, Elphaba is going to attack the wizard in the sky when he's in his balloon. In the beginning we see a hooded cloaked figure on horse back leaving the castle headed toward Emerald City, my theory is this figure is Elphaba going to have a final showdown with the Wizard. So I think Elphaba will get her broom back, and fly up to have it out with the Wizard as he's leaving in his balloon

I've spoiled myself, but now I am even more excited to see the second part, I love how they intertwined the two stories. Although I wish they could remake the Wizard of Oz, for visual continuity but I believe there are issues with rights, so it might never happen. I also wonder if the other Maguire books might have an adaptation someday, too.

Wizard of Oz the book was written about 150 years ago, and it was the book rather than the movie that Maguire had in mind when he wrote Wicked. (That's why the slippers are silver rather than ruby, like the movie.) So, I struggle to imagine there would be too many rights issues with making a new movie. (Hence why there are already a half dozen or more of the things.)

Elphie must have said we’ve seen his face for the last time that so Glinda thinks he passed away and makes this a motive for Elphie to “end her own life” Maybe Elphie and Fiyero made that plan that she will slightly set him on fire and then melted by Dorothy. In the opening cutscene you can see not just the bucket of water but strange scorch marks on the floor

What a great spoiler in the thumbnail for anyone who isn't familiar with Act II of Wicked. Like I get it's a 20yo musical, but there are a lot of people who have never paid attention to it until the movie, and even if they're avoiding videos like this, just scrolling by the thumbnail spoils the lion cub.

It's a response to the Wizard of Oz and therefore includes parts of the movie. Heck, the Wizard of Oz movie strays from canon of the Wizard of Oz book(s) and the Wicked musical strays from canon of the Wicked book(s)
