Not to mention if the Mets gave a 31 year old pitcher with a history of injures ,if the pitcher knows he’s good for 5 - 6 years , where’s his incentive knowing he gets paid no matter what he does , in my mind you gave him his retirement fund ! What do you guys think ?

People keep thinking the Yankees will have their best players for the next decade. Judge is 33 years old and Cole is 35 years old and they will both significantly decline in the next 2-3 years. Soto is signing for over a decade. The Mets have a much brighter future. The Yankees really don’t have anything at all. Soto has to be smarter than that. Judge will be protection for only a few years until he starts dropping off and becoming an inconsistent DH.. The guy is Frankenstein, his body will not hold up athletically…. I don’t know why people don’t bring this up because it’s a fact and it’s inevitable..

Huge Dominican community in Boston...... and he's a Red Sox fan.....but I think he sees baseball as a business more than anything.....so he's likely going where the money takes him

Queens NY has a huge Dominican population as well. Everyone keeps saying Boston has that advantage when it’s not even true. They do have Big Papi and Pedro Martinez,, unless those two guys are writing the 700 million dollar check i don’t think it matters.

@@MegillsTrash Yes.... both cities have big Dominican communities.....it will come down to where he wants to play because this contract allows for generational wealth. It's going to be about where he feels the best vibes.

@@johncummings5350plus the Mets keep building internally and have been improving every year for the past 4 years. He knows something special is brewing in NYC he wants a part of that

I would be ok trading for vlad and Bo from the jays and sign Alonso and try for soto Put the dodgers to shame Trade for Devin Williams and sign Scott from the Marlins Pitching staff get Manaea and severino and Quintana all over again Trade for luzardo and crochet Leave the farm with just Gilbert and Clifford as that’s all you will need for years to come

I would bring Soto and Trade for Vladimir Guerrero After 2025 I will go ALL IN for an extension to Vlad 1B/ 3B / DH and 5 yrs younger than Alonso

It’s so weird that throughout these sweepstakes, absolutely NOTHING has come out about the Mets and Soto. Even as of 12/3 there hasn’t been a peep. It makes me hopeful but also worried

I think the Mets should move to Manhattan and build a stadium in Battery Park.

Hey guys! I've always felt that Megill would be better as a reliever. His stuff is good enough, but he always seems to be out of gas by 75-85 pitches. Would the Mets consider him in the pen?
