I'm here because I just remembered I still have one of these. As a kid I kept a sort of audio journal of everything. This one replaced a TCM-40DV model that took a bad drop.

I have had three of these units. In my experience, the main problem with these units is that eventually the stop mechanism breaks, and the fast forward/rewind buttons become slack too. The last one I had was pretty good, and I put in a new belt and it worked OK for a few months but later it went like the others. However, it was my favourite Sony Walkman. I am glad you are enjoying using yours. One thing I would say is that though the Sound Boost function is only supposed to work with the headphones (as stated in they instruction manual), it definitely works while you use the speakers and it sounds pretty cool. I love these all-inclusive recording Sony Walkman units. The Wm-GX221 is one of the better looking ones from that range, and I loved mine when it worked. I hope I find another working unit someday. These units are not considered to be classics but I sure love them.

This is SO cool. I would've killed for something like this growing up instead of my off-brand portable cassette player. Still love that thing though. This one just has that aesthetic that drives me wild. Also reminds me of a tiny tape recorder I still have. Used to hold it up to my boombox speakers to make mixtapes with my own radio-show-style voice liners.

The aesthetic is what made me buy it. It's encompasses that great 80s boombox look into something so tiny, yet functional! I grew up with a Sanyo "walkman" that only had Play/FF and would slow down as the batteries died...

may I know the belt size or measurement (or whatever it's called)? My mother has this model but only the radio functions. The motors work but those spinny thingies don't. Thanks in advance

May I know the belt size or measurement or width (or whatever it's called)? My mother has the same model but only the radio functions. The motors work but the spinny things don't really spin probably due to a loose belt. This would help a lot, thanks in advance

Can i record digital audio into the cassette tapes using this please reply
@probnotstech3 жыл бұрын
I would find a different cassette deck for recording off a digital source, if you can. The input on this is mono, and it's really meant for recording from the microphone or maybe the radio. It also lack Dolby noise reduction.
