Perhaps you all missed it in the video…it is the bezel that has the mineral crystal. He says it quick and doesn’t always differentiate which he is speaking about. I see the confusion by some.

Couple of mistakes: it is saphire crystal, not mineral crystal. Date window is at 6, not at 3.

Awesome, I had my Seastar 2000 for 3 years now, and was looking for something lighter from Tissot, since my watch is a tank and stood the test of time incredibly well. It's literally says sapphire on the back though... :)

Blue dial with black case is killing me. I reserved one Black/Blue version in Boutique, to be trail on next Saturday. I tried the 2000T Black/Blue on today, not that big and not that heavy. I can compare the 1000T and 2000T side by side so that I can make my choice.

But the lume dot on the seconds hand doesn't line up with the indicies. Doesn't do it for me then. My 40mm 1000 with quartz movement does so. Looks so nice when it passes over the indicies.

Are the 40 mm seastars ISO certified? I checked the website, and it only lists the 46mm as diver certified. Another source states that all of them are iso certified. I have the 46mm, but I would like to get a 40 mm so long as I know they are certified.

I would be interested in the quartz version, but the dial on the quartz is super boring. If they had the nice dials the automatic version has, I would immediately buy one. On the other hand the price on the Powermatic 80 is not bad at all, maybe I should go for that one instead. The aqua green is my favourite.

@@ralphus555 You can only bring that watch to Tissot for repair. Silicon is a metalloid, but it feels like a plastic. You can only get those parts from Tissot. A watch repair shop can’t get those parts. Those parts will break down faster than metal parts of most any other movements.

Enjoy my prx but I think you can do better for the $$ with vrs micros ie Zelos, Axios, Nodus, ect. Myota 9000's, are better movements.

I agree, micros always giver better value but companies like Seiko and the Swatch group have alot of other expenses than micros. I have a few pm 80 and a few miyota 9000 both around a year old but besides the higher beat rate. What makes you say miyota are better? Is it bc of the Silicon parts? I have a total confidence in miyota and eta as watch movements manufacturers. I would appriciate to hear your opinion..

Tissot again failed on the last mile. Almost 1K, but mineral glas bezel is an instant fail in my opinion. It is also not clear which Powermatic they are using. If it's the C07.111 as the others it would be a double fail. It seems like the sister Certina is tge better "Tissot". Offering better specs. For example the Ds Action Diver with the C07.611 or the very recently published DS Action GMT with Sapphire bezel. I'm owning few Tissots but I'm more and more disappointed by them.

The Powermatic 80 cannot be regulated or serviced. It is meant to be discarded. Also Tissot goes light on AR coating so it reflects light like crazy. Go microbrand!

Of course it can be regulated. Via the screws on the balance wheel, like on Omega, Rolex or other movements with freely oscillating balance. Also they do service it. This movement was introduced over 10 years ago, I personally had several watches with Powermatic serviced. At the end it's like 95% the same as it's base, the good old 2824-2.

No Regulator:Similar to the Sistem51, the Powermatic 80 laser regulated at the factory. This is what Tissot refers to as their “High-Tech” escapement. This doesn't necessarily mean that the movement is impossible to adjust or service, but good luck finding parts or a watchmaker who will want to work on it.

@@TheBimmer74 just look at a picture from the movement. On the balance wheel there are screws on opposite sides, these are used to regulate the movement. Many other brands with a freely oscillating balance do it that way. The high-tech escapement refers to the hard plastic pallet fork and escapement wheel. Parts that have proven to function perfectly fine for over a decade. Also this has nothing to do with the System51. The Powermatic uses over 90% of the 2824-2 parts. Another benefit is the update is high resistance to shock and magnetism. I get that there's some confusion about this but also many lies 😉
