The Titan Capspray 95 HVLP Fine Finish Sprayer is the paint sprayer we use to get a flawless finish all the custom furniture and cabinetry I build. It sprays clearcoats and water-based paints.
It is an expensive tool that may not be right for everyone but if you do production woodworking or fine finish work this is a tool that is worth investing in.

Actually, I've got exactly that machine and you can spray a house with it. You need the transfer pump which costs a couple hundred bucks and a # 6 tip for about another hundred. With the transfer pump, you have to have a gun reconfigured without a cup, drawing directly from the transfer pump and a line from the pump into a 1, 5 gallon container of finish. You don't need to thin paints with this higher power machine (CS 950, They make one or two even more powerful than these). You can narrow the spray pattern down to about a pencil width (#2 tip) or out to about 16 inches wide with with a High volume flow (#6 tip). you'll be amazed at how well it works at getting flat latex onto a surface with a lot less bounce back. I actually use mine with the cup when I'm spraying flat latex exterior stucco paint. I haven't yet purchased the transfer cup which, by the way fits into the cup holder on the unit and plugs in automatically into a slot provided.. It's awesome.

you can use a #3 tip. You don't need to thin but should in order to get better flow and less texture, a glassier finish, better yet use some flowtrol or the like. The HVLP does produce some heat in the air stream and so it dries the paint faster because it warms it up, so be aware of this and use additives/water accordingly to improve flow but if you add too much, you'll get drips on vertical surfaces. With the nozzle and air flow wide open, even with the #3 tip, you'll get a lot of paint flowing so be careful. This is a powerful machine.

I’m a full time painter. And I’m always doing trim doors and cabinets. I feel like I get a pretty good finish with an airless on cabinets but those this give a finer finish?

Carlos Espinoza it depends, yes I know that’s a sucky answer. I used to use a titan 440 and a 310 fine finish tip and could get as good as I get with the cap-spray. I use Kelly Moore Durapoxy. And have used BM advanced, and SW pro classic. The biggest things for me is job size, overspray, and clean up time. The over spray difference is night and day. I can have the gun clean in about 5 minutes and can have extra guns to just switch guns to switch product. Airless is faster to spray. So for big jobs that’s the tool to use. But if I’m sprayer one or two doors the capspray is the better tool. I also have dedicated guns for latex, clears, and oils. That’s not something you can do with an airless. Hope this helps. If you have anymore questions let me know

@@DaileyWoodworks With the smaller HVLPs you didn't get a lot of paint flowing through. but these bigger multistage machines can move a very large volume of paint with the right tip. You may be surprised. If you get a CS 9 series or bigger, try a #6 tip and latex flat wall paint before you decide on an airless.

We produce about piece of finished furniture a week. So it’s used weekly. It’s holding up great. The whip hoses don’t last as long as I would like. I have three guns one for water base, one for clears, and one for oil stains

@@DaileyWoodworks Good day sir, if you dont mind, i have a question that i trust you can answer..my maxum 2 gun that I've had for a number of years fails to reduce the fan length..in the beginning i could knock it down to 2 inch, but now its just stuck on 12inch all the time..loosening the bit on the end changes nothing. Any suggestions? My first instinct says the spring behind the tip is dead..what are your thoughts? Thanks so much!

Tim, I was an industrial painter. I sprayed up to 1 million dollar pieces of equipment in a booth for a company called Sherman and Reilly. Yes this would work just fine. Some people prefer gravity fed. Any questions email me kingbrett833 at G mail

That's pretty much what this machine is designed for. You have a lot of controllability with your gun and with your pump. You can reduce fluid flow down to a trickle and increase air flow so that you can linger in a small area and push the fluid around with trigger control. I used to spray window muntins ( those dividers between the pieces of glass) without masking off the glass. That's how controllable the thing is with enough practice. You have to get pretty close to the surface, so the cup can get in the way sometimes. It's mostly practice. With a car, you're better off in a booth but the machine can handle laying down a good looking film. Again, heat is produced by the pressurization of air so be careful about maintaining a wet edge.
