I recommend Apostrophe games dry erase cards (poker size) and some dry-erase pens on Amazon for well under a tenner (UK). I love my token collection, but some are so hard to find or expensive. And when playing online, it helps to make the tokens that come from your opponent's spells, and can be used to mark out zones on the board as well.

My brothers and I worked at a fast food place for a collective five years or so, and whenever a gift card was expended we offered to throw them away. In reality I now have roughly a hundred gift cards of varying designs. They serve as my tokens in most cases.

I also discovered last night, while building a Minotaur deck, that 2/3 Minotaur tokens with haste (which Sethron, Hurloon General makes) don’t exist, either. Although regular 2/3 Minotaur tokens do, and really, since haste is only relevant for one turn cycle, it wouldn’t be hard to make the regular tokens work.

Basically old cards don’t have tokens because magic didn’t use to print tokens until tenth edition, only printing them as rewards or as a special novelty thing, like on unglued packs, and on those occasions they only printed the most popular tokens, like goblin and elf

Technically Homarid Spawning abed has a token printed. Along with the duelist #4 magazine it came with a punch card that had numerous counters and tokens for fallen empires. The duelist was made by wizards so it is technically official. I believe this might have been the first tokens officially made by wotc.

Chancellor of the forge is a giant that makes 1/1 red goblin tokens with haste. As far as I can tell, the closest you can get is a 1/1 red goblin without haste. That's good enough for my Krenko, mob boss commander deck, but if you run a deck that also includes Odric, lunarch marshal, for instance, you might want to remember which of your goblins have haste. Also, I have a Jalira, master polymorphist deck that I play on cockatrice that uses a lot of these token generators so that I can have sac fodder but still only have massive creatures to find with her ability. I never knew how many of those tokens didn't exist.

Mitch, I'm not certain if you've covered it in the comments or what-not, but coming from a player that's played Hazezon Tamar pretty regularly, the tokens that you used as a reference don't do Hazezon justice! 😂 If Hazezon isn't in play, then the tokens aren't exiled at the time of his ability resolving, and creates a complicating build-around. I'd be interested in seeing a decktech of him in the future!

Jace Cunning Castaway from Ixalan even creates 2 types of tokens. 2/2 Blue Elemental with spellweakness which do exsist, but also non-legendary copies of himself which dont exist for some reason. Jace, Mirror Mage does the same, but Zendikar Rising at least has a Copy Token with an Artwork resambling Jace

So, as far as I know, this token exists but it was only printed once for a singular product and that’s the 1/1 black vampire creature token that Edgar Markov makes. To get that particular token it costs nearly $5 on TCGPlayer

This was pretty funny. I haven't seen a lot of these cards, and some of them I do play with. I actually have custom tokens made for cards that I play that don't have any official tokens. I requested a Kaldra token to be drawn from Card Kingdom with one of my orders, and they gave me an awesome hand drawn token. I also try to pick up custom tokens when I'm at Magic Fests. RK Post and Ken Meyer Jr. have some awesome tokens available. What's crazy is how many times certain tokens have been reprinted. You should do an episode for tokens with the most reprints. :)

You brought up Skirk Ridge Exhumer and Goldmeadow Harrier but these two cards are part of a cycle in Future Sight for each color that produce a token version of a creature that already existed as a card previously in magic's history. To my knowledge none of the five cards have been printed in their token version. Similarly Docent of Perfection creates tokens that have been printed that are effectively Delver of Secrets and just like the cards above I prefer to use the actual castable version as a token.

I used to play Yugioh. There's barely any official Yugioh token cards for anything, and for a while most of the tokens they printed were just named Token and had blank stats and condescending reminder text that said "This card can be used as any token." Some of them had art for specific tokens and some of them had art of one of anime characters or something, and you never really knew what tokens they were supposed to be since you only had the art to go off of. I remember using a Yugioh card editor website and my dad's printer to make my own tokens with accurate stats and official art of what the tokens were supposed to look like cropped from official yugioh cards in ms paint. Recently they started making token cards that actually went to specific tokens, but the reminder text got even worse. Now it's "This card can be used as a ____ Token." and at the bottom of the card "*If used to represent another Token, apply that Token's Type/Attribute/Level/ATK/DEF."

Here's another way for Wizards to print money. Make all of these tokens. Make them foil. Put them as some special token Secret Lair or whatever, and sell them. I use rally of the horde and spawning pit in my Purphoros, God of the Forge deck, so I'd definitely buy them.

Tetravite is my creature type of choice when I need to choose one in a situation where it doesn't really matter what I actually choose (like when resolving a crippling fear and my board is empty). Sad that it's the only one in the Vite family that doesn't have its token.
