I just love your family. I love how Olivia is already wanting to save her money for when she's grown even if it's for treats and make up hehe. It shows responsibility and I just love how she kinda threw you under the bus about stealing Joel's quarters. That was just TOO cute! You are doing a great job raising your kids!

Olivia reminded me of my son with the money, he gets so proud of his savings. However, when he gets in trouble for misbehaving, he takes money out of piggy bank and tries to give it to me. He has a 100$ bill he got for his bday and he gave it to me last week and said "here mom, go buy some nice clothes or something, you deserve this." hahaha oh my heart bleeds sometimes at the cuteness of kids! Obviously I did NOT take his money! Hope you guys have a great weekend and keep pushing for that Disney trip! that's a dream of mine as well !

I got my tonsils out when I was 21. It was the best decision of my life!! I suffered with strep throat at least 5 times a year and when I got insurance, I took advantage of it. When I woke up, the ENT surgeon said they were the worse tonsils he had seen. They were constantly full of infection and I only had about a centimeter of space between my tonsils to eat, drink, breath, etc. The recovery of the surgery was nothing. I was sore when my meds wore off, but compared to the strep throat I was used to, it was nothing. I woke up from surgery crying because I was so happy I would breath!! I had a great experience and hope the best for you!!

Growing up, my little brother and I had this large 5 gal water jug that we would throw every penny we had or found into. It was our Disneyland money. Only pennies, and nothing else. It made my childhood, I loved it! Then at some point we'd saved up a good few hundred dollars (in pennies!) But my mom put it in the bank and we never went to Disneyland. I am now 22 and my brother is 20 and we still remind our parents all the time how they took away our hopes and dreams. lol. I am going to start this "tradition" with my son. Have him save his pennies in a water jug, but this time we WILL go to Disneyland. I must go!

I had my tonsils out at 20, it was definitely rough but sooo worth it. I have some tips! * Keep ice cold water close by, staying well hydrated speeds your new tissues to heal. * Ice packs too, there's discomfort in your jaw/ears and that numbs it down. * Prep soft and nutrient dense foods ahead of time. Staples for me were baked sweet potatoes, Greek yogurt, watermelon, broth, etc. * Use children's toothpaste, I found that regular strength toothpaste burned. Your breath will be pretty gnarly and it's important to brush out the bacteria build-up. * The pain meds you're prescribed tend to back you up...get a bottle of Miralax and take even half of the dose every day. * Emergen-C packets were an easy way to give my immune system a boost ahead of time, and stay hydrated during recovery. I hope these tips help ease some worries about it all! I've stayed so much healthier these past few Winters since, I seem to not catch the bugs that go around or get wayyy milder symptoms than before.

Bonnie, I had my tonsils removed as an adult and it was not THAT awful! Of course, I didn't have 4 kids to take care of at the same time. But getting them out and never having to deal with that pain again was completely worth any recovery pain!

Hi Bonnie, I had my tonsils out when I was 50. they were taken out the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I couldn't resist so I took a few very small bites of turkey and lots of mashed potatoes. I was way older than you. I bet you will do great. I can honestly say it wasn't that bad. So, so worth it to get rid of those terrible tonsil stones. I think I was so happy to get rid of those that made me heal so much faster! Good luck!

hi Bonnie, a little tip I use for a cold sore, as soon as you feel like you might be getting one, put rubbing alcohol on it as many times a day as you can remember. make sure to use a q-tip or a clean finger. for me it will stop "growing" as soon as I apply the alcohol.

Hi Bonnie .... I have sent some amazing cold sore cream that we have in the UK that I couldn't find on a recent trip to the USA so I have sent a bag of them to beau with some in there for you and Ruby it should be there in the next few days .... Basically put it on as soon as you feel the "tingle" or swelling and it does not develop or erupt in blisters it's amazing stuff!!! Your chemist may find you an equivalent if you take the leaflet in but I hope it works as well for you as it does for me !!!!

+Bonnie Hoellein your very welcome .... I hope it helps you as much as me !! I was plagued until I found this... I was also told that when blood temp goes up that is what triggers the virus so it's not the sun but your body temp going up , so if you have a cold etc and a temp you get one of just over dress and get hot either way keep your body temp down ... That really helped me too :)

Since I got my tonsils removed as a child, I always get chest colds during the cold season. My husband still has his tonsils as do our adult children and the never really get chest colds.
