I factor in availability higher when judging attainability. Anyone can buy a $1,000 knife that's always in stock. Even the people who say they can't afford it. You can save up for a year if necessary but you "can" still afford it.

I saw a knife awhile back that was a front flipper were the gipping went from the front to back. Made it easy to use the index finger to front flip instead of the thumb like cracking a lighter on. Anyone know the knife I'm talking about?

Even though I love collecting knives, the most expensive one I own is about $500 and that was a birthday present. As much as I’d love to splurge on a custom or one-of-a-kind knife for over $1,000, I just can’t bring myself to do it. It blows my mind, especially when I think about the fact that I own guns that cost as much as some of these knives! You definitely have some beautiful knives I’ve never heard of Herman knifes before but omg absolutely beautiful craftsmanship even for $2000+🥴🥴

Totally agree that any Shirogorov and Herman can be on the list. I like the Brian Nedeau flippers; all of them, but the Typhoon is my fav. Similarly, the high leverage on the Vero Synaps family of knives is amazing. An oldie but goodie, the ZT 920. Les George knows how to make a heavy harmonic on a knife's 'thwak'. I like the unique feel of the Zieba S5 too. I feel this list could be a top 100.

I have the same timascus mini evo that you have but the detent feels somewhat weak... Unless I got a dud, I'd only agree the the mini evo action is the best if the detent was heavier. Of all my flippers, It's the only knife I feel a need to overcompensate with my flipping strength to ensure a successful deployment. I won't deny the the quality of the knife is next-level, but I was rather disappointed in the detent strength and flipping action overall. Is this just part of that unique action, or did my mini evo come in with a slightly weaker detent?
