Cool list! I have many of these already, picked up Mosa Lina, wishlisted a couple others. Tiny Rogues was my number one for 2023 until I picked up Cube Chaos!

Terra Cards has no reason to be on a top 10 games list of 2023 lol. It’s not that it’s a bad game but every single one of these absolutely blows it out of the water. It’s a buggy mess that half the time doesn’t work and has about 3 hours of content

That is so unique to attack enemies in tower defence that we see it about 10 years ago in Orcs must die!. And in three (or even four) sequels. And in... Dungeon defenders or Dungeon mages. Something like that.

Hey man if you haven't played it, check out Rise to Ruins. It's really great but difficult. You assign villagers to jobs and build a town and protect it but you also have God powers similar to Black and White.

I really like this list! My personal favorite game of 2023 was Super Mario Bros. Wonder, but if I had to pick an indie game I would definitely pick Pizza Tower! I highly recommend that game! It's so addicting to run through the levels at blazing speeds and listening to that jamming soundtrack that has been stuck in my head for months now lol

Brutal Orchestra is so cool beacuse it is a punk rock exploration of nihilism and absurdism. Like... that is the whole of it's story. If you said that is a good plot for a game... I would think you are just trying to sell me drugs. But no it is a good plot for a game.

If there is more to the game I haven’t seen, they should have made that more available earlier. Runs got pretty samey quick and I have around 15 hours in it at this point

There's going to be a bunch more stuff added in updates - the last patch (just before christmas) added a new event, and there's even more events and bosses getting tested on the experimental branch. It's not *great* that the game released without them (since as you said, it does get kinda samey) but after a few more content updates the game should feel really fresh

Wildfrost was extremely close to an honorable mention but it had some huge difficulty flaws on release when I played it. Astrea, honestly, I really didn’t like. It was WAY too complicated and they did nothing to help the player, and that was by design. The difficulty curve was supposed to be that you were just confused the whole time

Eh to each their own. I played through the entire game on my channel. It was great for about 1/2 of it. You could tell they went for quantity over quality and it showed. The sea people fetch quests that added nothing but time wasted to the game were brutal
