Research chiropractic for babies. Birthing really contorts a body. Theirs and yours. It helps.
@lollsazz3 жыл бұрын
As the previous comment said: chiropracsis could help. It's also important to know about overtiredness, milk protein allergy, reflux, burping twice a meal (only by holding baby over the shoulder, no slapping their back) and ovestimulation. I feel those things should be mentioned very early on, as they fix a lot of "colic".

I was 19 with my first baby. I had nurses that were horrid about my nursing for the first 3 days. They acted like I was starving my son on purpose when he wouldn’t latch on. Back then we stayed in the hospital for 4 days. I finally found a nurse that helped me and he latched on and it went well after that. I would have hoped nurses would be more compassionate by now. My son is now 42. They will always be your baby. 😊 You two are doing phenomenal.

As a nurse I will totally agree with #2. We can give all the advise in the world but that's all it is. You can try it, check boxes off, add or take away a little from each thing but you're only going to feel comfortable with your own thing and that's the best advise ever! One thing I've always noticed too and it's frustrating for me as a nurse because it I know it hurts mommy but it's when we can do exactly what mommy did and it works but she tries so hard and it doesn't. I just try to remind them it's a lot to do with stress, lack of sleep, wanting your baby to have everything you can give possible, etc. Moms rock! Just know you will get it and you'll later wonder why was I so stressed? Dad's rock too but mom's tend to have a bit more stress. Y'all rock and are great parents, Jack is very lucky to have you, as you're lucky to have him!

You guys are so awesome and fun to watch as you learn about life! Here’s a little minor mom advice...try not to let Jack just chew on random objects. Many households objects and plastics have toxins or lead paint that can be harmful without you knowing it. Also, sometimes there are little pieces that can come loose and be a choking hazard. You two are doing a wonderful job learning to be parents.
@deborahortwine52833 жыл бұрын
You’re so fortunate to have others to get advice from. I had a cryptic pregnancy and I couldn’t talk to anybody because I didn’t know I was pregnant. I was very lucky that my son slept through the night at three weeks old. I was also very fortunate that he was such an easy baby to raise, he was always so quiet and calm. The worst part, I couldn’t breast-feed either. I couldn’t produce enough either. You just need to model what you want Jack to be when he grows up because they learn everything by your actions. I would recommend that you let him be dirty, let him get sand in his mouth don’t use antibacterial anything and he will be building up his immune system by letting him be dirty. That just came naturally for me but his doctor told me that’s the best thing I could’ve done was let him be dirty to build his immune system and my son was never sick, never missed a day of school for being sick. Let Jack be dirty growing up. I don’t get some germs because it will build his immune system.

I'm so glad you brought up your experience with location department. As a maternal newborn nurse working in a "baby friendly hospital" on night shift. I see this some of the time. New mothers upset about lactation being aggressive and making them feel like a failure. I always tell my moms and dads it is your baby your family your decision. You should NEVER feel bad or feel ashamed. If you really want to BF just know it can be very challenging the first few weeks. Infant can cluster feed (feed continuously for hours and hours) in the beginning. So this is normal. But whatever YOU decide is perfect for you and you guys ROCK!!!!!!

You three are honestly fabulous. Such a lovely family. ❤️ Everything you’ve said is so spot on. 👌🏻Sarah, check out a Gentlebirth course if you ever decide you want another baby in the future. I just had my first baby in 2019 and am enjoying the time with her before I consider having another. Hopefully we’ll be lucky enough to have that option. These courses were started by an Irish midwife called Tracy Donegan. She’s on KZbin. They are super empowering courses/programmes for both Mum and Dad. Your partner is very much involved in the course and has a huge role to play. I think Derek would love it. It’s not hypo-birthing-it’s about how to manage all scenarios and how partners and women can speak up, feel in control in the hospital and get the most positive birth experience they can despite what happens. You are so right, women are made to birth. We are all Wonder Woman! That mindset is very powerful. 💪🏻 Sending you both love and light, from my family of three here! X

One thing to add to your recommendations is a breast steaming machine.. it helps sooth charred nipples during the negotiation stage of breastfeeding.. our birthing centre had one and I wish I'd known about it with my 1st

The first few months usually can be hard even with breastfeeding they might have you give formula while doing the in-between pumping and finding the right bottles can be hard but yes it gets better specially when they are able to eat a bit of puree in between breastfeeding instead of formula, but yeah eventually your breasts will be able to make enough though it just takes time sometimes ❤️ it can be hard sticking with it though, I had to stick with it no matter what even though I did have to add formula sometimes at first cuz I plan to breastfeed till each baby is 2 to decrease the chance of them getting type 1 diabetes like my husband, it's his biggest fear and I support whatever is best for them and hopefully easing his mind, I'm glad you found what was best and what helped keep everyone happy, the breastfeeding does stop hurting at some point though 👍❤️ stay happy! 😊

‘Surfer’? How much does that pay? Life skills are the most important things to be taught! All new parents figure it out. One thing my husband & I did since we both loved music, we left stereo on low & all 3 slept well & didn’t wake up if friends stopped by. Just a thought for Sunny.

So my son was a cranky baby at first and it was frustrating bc he screamed a lot. Turns out he had a tongue tie. I thought breast feeding was really hard and gave up quickly. And now I know that the tongue tie also prevents good latching. Now I advocate for people to understand and check for them! We ended up having to fix his at 6 months bc when he started solid food he had a really hard time swallowing.

Oh my lordy!! Yes, yes and more yes! I had my daughter on 11.19.20, I wish I had found you guys sooner to hear your advice. Especially about the nurses and lactation specialists. I agree, like you said, they know a lot, and mean well, but everyone is soooo different. After I had Penelope Rose, I had ZERO clue on what to do. I asked two different nurses how to burp her and I kid you not, one said "always burp the baby on your shoulder" and the other literally said "NEVER burp the baby in your shoulder" *insert ummm WTF face from me* But fast forward to now, she's happy, healthy, sweet, sassy and (a little) smart ass-y 😜😜

It is a medically proven fact that until sids is no longer a risk (aka at least the first year) it is best to have baby sleep in the same room ( in separate bed of course). It usually takes a baby six months to sleep through the night.

Some great statements and comments. I have to make a comment on number 9 … though. A cousin has had 4 babies, all caesarean at the orders of the doctors. Her pelvis is so tiny that, if she had them vaginally, it would have broken her pelvis. A very rare exception though, always follow your doctor’s advice. By the way, that doesn’t make her any less of a mother.❤️

Take it from a mom with 2 toddlers 2 and 3 is when the real problems start and it might be easy or it might be hard but good luck.

I was told by our family doctor to have my son sleeping in another room. They hear your sleeping - snores, breathing etc - and it interferes with their sleep. Also. Babies do not always need milk. A little water may be all they need. They get thirsty too. Agree with the breastfeeding.
