So excited you had Red Rooms in your Top Ten. I had it in my #1 spot for 2024. Had been waiting for your thoughts on it as you never rated or reviewed but gave it a heart on LB. I'm still waiting to see The Brutalist, mixed reviews but being in your Top 10 has me excited about it again. 'How to make Million before Grandma Dies' was my #4 of 2024 and glad to see you giving it love.

Awesome video, you articulate your thoughts so well! I only watched 30 new releases last year lol but I agree there were so many great ones! I loved Monkey Man, Civil War, Dune part 2, Babygirl, furiousa, and Nosferatu! Oh and Trap was so good!! And it was great to see Hartnett in a leading role again

Great list overall, my top 10 currently is… 1. Memoir of a Snail 2. Anora 3. Challengers 4. Dune Part 2 5. The Substance 6. I Saw the TV Glow 7. The Seed of the Sacred Fig 8. Look Back 9. Nosferatu 10. National Anthem With honorable mentions to Furiosa, Kill, Queer, Flow, and The Last Stop in Yuma County. Planning to see The Brutalist and Nickel Boys this weekend and that’ll probably change it up a bit. Excited for the year of movies 2025 will bring.

My top 5 films of 2024 at this point are The Substance, A Different Man, Challengers, The First Omen, and Kinds of Kindness! My most anticipated for 2025 has to be GDT's Frankenstein. I'm seeing The Brutalist in IMAX today and hopefully catching up on some others I missed in the next few weeks!

I was able to see The Brutalist in 70mm this past weekend and I'm torn on it. I agree that the first half is perfect. I was so invested in everything and the cinematography, score, and acting are amazing (that opening scene when he's walking through the ship and we get the shot of the Statue of Liberty is amazing), but I think it completely derails in the second half. I dont think the ending was satisfying at all and felt the epilogue was unneeded. Maybe I'll revisit it someday and have a different opinion

My favorite from this year that not enough people have seen is River. Japanese time-loop comedy from the same team as Beyond the Infinite 2 Minutes. It's adorable, hilarious, and somehow flies by without the 2-minute loop gimmick ever growing old. And then Challengers is my actual #1. Great list!

Fantastic list, Sydney! 2024 was a great year for film from action, animation and indie films. Awesome to see Monkey Man, Furiosa and Dune 2 are all awesome action movies. Love seeing you give attention to smaller indie and foreign films on your list. My Top 5 For Now but likely to change as I got to catch up: 1. Dune: Part Two 2. Nosferatu 3. The Wild Robot 4.
