No matter what cr7 has more goals than Messi even if Messi has less games played. I just gave Messi the accolades of scoring that much goals without being a striker I mean center forward and cr7 too wasn't your typical center forward but the goals are insane. You don't always have to compare them all the time.

Cr7 is not a striker. He is a right winger. Just because he plays as a forward doesn't make him a pure striker.. A striker is the one who plays the number 9 position..A player like the Brazilian Ronaldo, Marco van Basten, e.t.c

In this list 1. C. Ronaldo 2. Pele 3. Di Stefano 4. Puskas 5. Eusebio 6. Ronaldo 7. G. Muller 8. Van Basten 9. Romario 10. Rummenigge 11. Henry 12. Suarez 13. Lewandowski 14. Ibrahimovic 15. Greaves 16. Nordahl 17. Benzema 18. Raul 19. Shearer 20. Weah I consider Cristiano, Pele, Di Stefano, Puskas, Eusebio, and Rummenigge as a Forward (who played a free role, winger, second striker, etc). If you conclude them in this position, Cruyff & Meazza must be there and many other great strikers. You miss - Hugo Sanchez, Sandor Kocsis, Telmo Zarra, Uwe Seeler, and Josef Bican. Shearer and Weah are not even in the Top 20. If you conclude them - any good striker must be in discussion such as Aguero, Van Nistelrooy, Batistuta, Klinsmann, Shevchenko, Riva, Law, Papin, John Charles, Fontaine, and a few names. Because they are on the same level and had an argument.

I am not denying the greatness of Pele, but there are very few players more impactful than Ronaldo. In terms of influence, perhaps Van Basten and Cruyff, and in terms of big game, perhaps Stefano, Di Maria, and Puskas. But pele does not edge him in either forms. I still think out of respect Pele should get the no. 1 spot, but if we are talking in absolute terms of ability, then the fight is really between Messi, Puskas, Nazario, and Cristiano.

How the hell did Messi not make it to this list? He spent his prime days as a CF. Infact he has played more games as a CF than Cristiano Ronaldo. The recency bias is crazy, most people have forget just how good of a striker/CF he was in his days. No CF has scored 91 goals in a single calendar year. IMO, Messi has cemented himself in the top 2 best strikers of all time. And Ronaldo without a doubt is up there with Pele.

@@njldst2007 well no offense but by that logic Romario did not play as an out and out striker as well. false 9 is infact a form of CF. Look at Lewandowski's game. He falls as deep as the midfield line to link up play, he is still considered an out and out striker. Martinez goes even one step further, completely committing to defense when they are out of possession leaving Thuram playing up, he is still considered a striker. I myself am a Ronaldo fan, but Messi is easily one of the best CFs.
