Played with almost all of these and Spartus olympus seems to be my favorite. The extra power you get while sacrificing almost nothing and quick hand speed while still having a full feeling paddle (bc of the foam) makes it such a unique 14mm

@stspickleball2 ай бұрын
I agree! That extra power makes it such a fun paddle, but I’m still on the fence about it! I keep going back to it and messing with it and then I find myself wanting to grab my J2K / J2Ti. I think it’s mainly just a sweet spot issue and when I do my reviews it’s often stock. Probably should add some lead to the Spartus and see how I like it then. I just feel like the power is there, but it’s not enough to fully differentiate it. And then the sweet spot and the spin aren’t like ultra top tier so I’m just sort of on the fence! Going to break it in more and add lead and see where I’m at with it.
@Simpletonwithadog2 ай бұрын
@@stspickleball 3 inches of lead from 7-9ish and 3-5ish takes the power up a notch and increases the sweet spot. This is when the paddle unlocks and becomes an absolute monster IMO

Here is the objective answer. If you want a touch more pop then I’d grab the CTRL 2. It feels a bit less plush and a bit more poppy off the face. Spin is still great and I like the blue color quite a bit. So if you know you’d like a Mach 2 Forza (because you’re looking for a more control oriented paddle with high spin) and you know you personally want a touch more pop than the original THEN I’d grab the CTRL 2, otherwise just get the original cause it’s great and a bit cheaper and overall more control oriented 😊

@dkipu2662 ай бұрын
@ I picked up the Pulse S, and liked almost everything about it, but the swing weight feels quite high as it does not seem not well balanced. I use a Shogun with a couple of lead weights added, but it feels much lighter to swing than the S. A few of us tested it and felt the same way. I do love the power, pop and control, but it would need modification to not kill my rotator cuff over time(I already have some issues there).
@HowieB-isMe38852 ай бұрын
@ I’ve been using a Volare, Mach, two Forza and the swing weight of the pulse V is very comparable. I don’t know why you picked up the S if you have elbow issues, you should be using a wide body, not a hybrid or an elongated.

Can you please recommend a All court that's tennis elbow friendly? Maybe has anti vibration handle or something. Thank you

Honestly the J2Ti is extremely tennis elbow friendly. It has such a plush feel off of the face and has edge foam around the perimeter into the handle of the paddle so it dampens vibration quite well. The “titanium” or polyester weave on the face also gives it a dampened plush feel that works very well for someone with tennis elbow.

@stspickleball2 ай бұрын
Great question. The J2Ti has a more plush nature than the Ruby. It has more grit too so it really grabs the ball. I think the overall durability and construction of the J2Ti is also better than the Ruby and it comes in at a much better price too which is nice! The pulse is solid for sure, they have a bigger sweet spot than the Ruby, and feel well constructed. There’s a lot of tech that went into them, but I still would give the edge to the J2K / J2Ti overall 😊

It really depends on what you’re looking for personally. No paddle is really “better” than another these days. Some objectively are of course but anything in this price range is all about what you’re looking for specifically. Pulse V is a wide body so a larger sweet spot and a bit more pop off the face. J2K is a hybrid shape with a bit less pop, a touch more reach, and is cheaper with relative performance. I’d just snag the J2K personally I love it.
