We painted our master bedroom Chantilly Lace. We love the colour however it took 4 coats of paint (in the highest quality/finish) to properly cover our existing off white/light grey builder’s paint colour. Benjamin Moore later informed us that this is a reoccurring theme with this shade.

@@rockz755 Unfortunately it took three coats. I was covering darker colors and chantilly lace has very little pigment. I have to say though if you like a crisp, neutral white, it’s a beautiful option 😊

Urgently need a reply to this! My landlord had my walls painted Chantilly Lace as per my request but the painter chose a really bright white for the baseboards and the contrast is way too much --your eyes go straight to the baseboards/doors and not the wall :( Now we need to repaint the baseboards but which color?

What do you think of breaking kids bedroom wall with the top being chantilly lace OC-65 and down sterling 1591 from Benjamin Moore, and painting the back wall of my master bedroom with sterling 1591 as well and the rest of the master bedroom walls chantilly lace. I just loved this video. All of our trim is SW extra white which is a cool white that I love because our house isn't always bright because it faces NW on a wooded lot. That being said we have repose gray and gray owl in our home which we love! What white color walls could I do with the Extra White Trim? I was thinking white dove to give a bit of a contrast. Or would that look completely off? Haven't tried extra white on the walls yet because I'm afraid it will be too stark. I'm kind of going mad looking at Soo many different whites. Yes! Double-check next to your cabinets first, sometimes they can more off-white, or more blue-white. Just be mindful that you may highlight the cabinetry, not a bad thing, but just so you're aware. :)

Thank you! Your video on white paints really helped me narrow things down. Our kitchen cabinets (north-facing in Northern CA) are painted BM Advance Simply White, satin finish. They're beautiful and look pure white. I assumed I would paint the walls Simply White as well, but SW in eggshell looks yellow compared to the cabinets (both in daylight and LED 3000K recessed). Wall was primed and then three coats of SW applied, so not an application problem. Could the fact that the cabinets were sprayed (required dilution) plus sheen difference account for the color discrepancy? Chantilly Lace in eggshell appears minimally brighter than the cabinets, but otherwise seems to match better without making the cabinets appear yellow. Does that sound like a reasonable choice?

Oh, that's a tough one! I would think a softer white or Off-white like Cloud Cover, but it's hard to say for sure without seeing the space.

Hi I am desperately searching for a light grayish white. I tried whirlpool and it was too purplish blue. I want minimal undertone, if any. I’m okay with a SLIGHT hint of blue. Definitely not warm. I want something that can be considered a gray and also consider a white ( it can be white when the suns out and gray when the sun sets). I don’t want green and yellow undertones at all. Whirlpool looked pretty dim on my wall and it has an LRV of 76ish. I’m looking for something in the 70-82 range. I am thinking about graytint but fear it’s too dark. Please help me. Benjamin moore

For a Yellow, I always suggest picking your fav and then go two to three shades lighter. It appears much stronger on your walls than you think! You can also opt to go neutral on your walls and just use yellow decor accents. :)

It certainly can unless you want a contrast (then you'll need a brighter white). I would do the same and choose satin finish for the trim. If you chose eggshell finish for the walls, semi gloss can also work for trim. I personally prefer flat for walls and satin for trim.

No. It's a very neutral white so it will work with pretty much anything! In general, we typically opt for white oak, but there are lots of beautiful flooring options out there!
