I always appreciate your message. Keep reading and summarizing for us. I have bought more than one book you have used for a video summary. Children grow up fast but the memory of them growing up last a long long time so continue to create the opportunities for those memories to develop. Thank you.

I find myself thinking more and more about my older friend who kept telling me he could retire any day but if he works a little longer he got a little more pension. Died at 62 of cancer. He was never a healthy man so probably could have predicted that.

I have a small small recommendation as I work with many grieving families. I think what you mean to say is the person who has lost a beloved, who is struggling through the process of grief, if they successfully go through all stages of grief and have good self-esteem, they will move forward in life. Saying move on has a feeling of they got over it no one gets over the death of a beloved. They get through it and move forward choosing to live a good life for the sake of the lost and for themselves.

Do you think we've hit a time where people want or need to express a regret in choosing not to have kids in favor of a career, or fear of the responsibility, or just selfishness? Or will we have to wait for Millennials to reach the last chapters of their life to have that realization.
@aminzqrti76722 ай бұрын
This is exactly why everyone should live his life without caring about other people’s opinions! Not having children is a choice! It’s not selfish or whatever. No regret, nor now neither later.. for some people maybe this is difficult to understand … But this is exactly how you decide to be happy in life, you just ignore them😊
@soumyajeetchakrabarty68722 ай бұрын
I second your opinion, having no kids or not getting married is choice , even if you choose to think otherwise after 10 years. As long as it keeps you happy there shouldn't be any guilt.
@locgem2 ай бұрын
That's the premise of this video though. People reflecting on choices they made before they had "all the information" (the experience of having lived their entire life).
@krembryle2 ай бұрын
Sorry what? Not one of these regrets were about not having kids. If we've hit a time, it's the time when people are open about regretting having children, not the opposite. Selfishness is having children because you want them to take care of you. And then you become even more unhappy than those without children, because you have unmet expectations of what your children should do for you and those who don't have children don't have those. I've seen that happening in real life.

Everyone has a different frame they see the world in. I didn't even think of people with regrets about not having kids basing it on not having someone to take care of them when they're older... that's shameful and shouldn't be voiced as a regret. Rather, some of the most rewarding things in life come from doing the hardest things in life. And just to frame my idea of "rewards" would be developing deep meaningful relationships with your children and knowing they will be authentic in their actions and beliefs... not "good, good, I sufficiently guilted them into caring for me when I'm infirmed. Glad I dodged those loneliness regrets." He even uses some of these lessons from the book to explain a shift in perspective and be more present and effective with his kids.

But, to get in college and compete, you need activities your kids will compete with others that are athletes, musicians etc. Getting in college is very competitive. You don’t know cause your kids are so young. Actually you seem too young to make this video because you have not had enough life experience so this video lacks depth and complexity. I am 71 and I don’t think you appreciate the complexities of life.
