The Top Ten HARDEST Uploaded Levels in SMM2

the fact that the last two arent just absolute marathons of ridiculous tricks and a lot of memory, but also have crazy tight timers is just insane from the uploaders

I was really hoping for commentary. As a very casual SMM viewer I have no idea why these levels are specifically hard since most levels look like impossible chaos to me.

#10 and #7 are hard due to very advanced NSMBU tech, specifically in triple jumps. Being able to sustain the triple jump while making multiple movements and item throws is very difficult, and there are many other difficulty factors and different NSMBU tech involved as well. #9 is hard essentially due to the precision of the jumps. There are 15 very difficult jumps (there are others but they are easier). A few jumps also require float, which means repressing jump to delay the start of the fall when you reach the peak of the jump. This tech is required at the jump where you get to the on/off switch, the jump where you get the third red coin and the next jump between the spike and the stack of munchers. #8 is hard due to the tricks being performed. The timing of the shell and item throws, the control of momentum and the height of the jump all play into doing the set ups in the level. In addition it is very fast paced and has a tight timer (and some frame perfect jumps). #6 is difficult due to the speed of the inputs. You need to do a lot of precisely timed inputs very very quicky, and while doing those inputs to juggle items with you through the level you are simultanously performing kaizo tricks to bring mario through as well. Basically very fast precise juggles. #5 is hard due to precise controlled jump timings. Specifically, one trick in the level called the p-bonk is much harder than the rest of the level (so much so that without that trick the level would be around #34th hardest level in the game). The p-bonk is 18 seconds into the level. #4 is a double version of a level called Verdant, which is the 14th hardest level in the game. It is hard for the same reasons as #6, but doing Verdant twice in a row without dying is very hard. #3 is very difficult due to all the enemies and obstacles which make the jumps very precise. In addition, there are many hidden blocks which make movement even more precise. #2 is hard due to it's tight timer (you need to do everything in perfect speed or else you'll time out), precise movement, and precision jumps. #1 is hard because of everything I said for #2, but like by a much larger margin. The timer for this level is very very tight, and the tricks need to be done perfectly or you'll run out of time. Hope that helps :)

My first thought upon seeing #3 was... "Oh man, good luck to anyone rebuilding *THIS* in editor." SMM2 has so many amazing (and scary) masterpieces. I can't believe titans such as Frozen Eclipse and even Ozymandias don't crack the list, but I do have to say, all ten of these are *WAY* out of my league, so I can't disagree with any of this ^^' Thank you for the compilation!

Funny to see チョコ式スピードラン ver5 as number one. What got me into Mario Maker was seeing the clear video for チョコ式スピードラン ver2 back in ~2016 - they are still creating some ridiculous levels even now - I remember watching him stream attempts for this for ages on his channel, didn't know he cleared it.
