Dorothy Jane got me hooked onto the poetry of Emily Dickinson as a young girl. I am forever grateful to have had a television 📺 character of such intelligence, eloquence, and sensitivity to look up to growing up. Utterly impactful. 💛

Dorothy Jane was the most influential television character of my childhood. I fervently believe that character inspired the beginning of my lifelong love for literature/poetry, particularly the poems of Emily Dickinson. I adored her broad vocabulary, her deep thoughts, her sensitivity, and intelligence. Now as an adult, I still appreciate Dorothy Jane, profoundly. 💙

Watched this in reruns as kid, and as a full blown adult I just cried my eyes out when Millicent said “I had that great love of my life too, unfortunately my husband didn’t think that was reason enough to stick around, and that hurt too, a lot.” To love someone deeply and think this is it, and have the person leave you has been one of the most devastating things I’ve ever experienced, so I felt that line.

This should have been the end to the series, honestly. Having Millicent reaffirm that she already had the great love of her life, even if he was a cad and abandoned his family and she didn't want anymore. For some people in real life, one love in their life is all one needs. I'm the same way. If something ever happened to my husband Frank, he will never be replaced by anyone trying to become be a spouse or partner in future. ^_^

The episodes didn't air in order in which they filmed them, so there are discrepancies here. If you go on wikipedia and look at the list of episodes, look at the production codes for season 2. The way to know the order is to start with 201 and keep counting up. Notice they are not in order because it is listed by air date.
