The Tough to Bridle Horse

In this video we are working with an 11 year old arabian that had started to give his owner problems when bridling. The issue became enough of a problem that it actually began to interfere with riding time.

I have a horse that ripped 2 halters, 2 rope leads and bent 1 stable panel from times he did not want to put his bridle..i watch this video 1 time and did the exact same thing on this video and was able to put the bridle on and take it off and on multiple times with no problem or issues that i had before.. in short words THANK YOU!!!!

Thank you for this. I have one that is being really difficult…I am going to try this. All my other horses are easy to bridle and my method is to always let them take the bit and spit the bit out. I don’t let the bit bang on them coming off and I don’t try to jam it in their mouth. Also when it’s really cold I warm the bit up. I try to make it as easy on them as possible because its never their idea to be bridled or do any of the other various tasks we ask of them and I try to respect that.

I have this same problem with a quarter/draft mix. I just need to be a foot taller and weigh another 100 lbs to do this with him. 😂

👍👍 I'll usually start or re train with a rubber covered snaffle like yours to avoid banging the teeth with a metal mouthpiece. Persistence!

Yep me too but I also do the old timer trick of putting liquid molasses on the bit. Usually only takes them twice to start hunting for that bit. I gradually fade the molasses out, but I still do it every now and then with my own horses.

Not one mention of holding the bridle half way down the cheekpieces with hand half way down front of his head... This keeps his head in position while left hand opens mputh. Banging him in the mouth has caused this

It is absolutely possible it only happens with you. It all depends on how you are using the principles of pressure and relief.

@@tracyjohnson5023 Is your thinking so limited. Nearly any horse can be effectively ridden using a rope halter and lead line converted to reins. Subtle cues are communicated to the horse. No pain compliance.
