Great to see you back Del. I have the same pair with 2 years now. I think theyare Brilliant i use them for a table with 4x2 into the brackets. Depending on jobs id have a 2ftx8ft osb to lay on it. Im at the age i need to work from a comfortably height. They are great for useing a track saw on. As the comments said they are great mini scaffold. I have fitted a few 1m by 2.8 m long pvc shower walls .the stands are a gift for cutting the panels with a old blade in the track saw. Hopefully you get time for more videos del 👍🇮🇪

I discovered those last year when I needed an extra pair for a large garden project. Love them and while my first pair (axminster) are adjustable height-wise, the Toughbuilt ones are almost perfect for my 6'2" height. It was funny hearing you talk about making sawhorses as an apprentice - for the first year I think that's all I ever did on sites with when working for my dad. That and making tea, and sharpening chisels.

Good to see you again, big fella! Terrifying to think of us as 'old timers' but there we are. Very good explanation of the ergonomics of the saw-horse, and saw length. Soul-destroying is no exaggeration: miles and miles of ripping ply by hand is right up there with chimney sweeps; definitely best consigned to history! I've got a pair of those chunky Toughbuild jobs. I think mine are the next version up, with adjustable legs. They are very good, but I tend to use my very old plastic Stanleys, as they are compact, easy to lug around, and work just fine with a couple of lengths of 3by. I did see the video you mentioned, and I knocked up the lap joint doofer, which I have found very useful.

@@thetallcarpenter You can quote me on that. They are way superior. My mate uses the Toughbuilt and side by side you can feel the better quality of the Bora's. The other thing is how quick the Bora's open up. Only downside is where the openings for the 4x2 stock fits to make a bench as I think its an American sizing, but you did say you might even cut them off.

Hi Dell, i got them exact set of saw horses over a year ago. I added 18mm plywood on top and included a fork on one of them like you have on your old horses to support a door while working on it. Great addition i must admit. I found them to be brilliant and did everything i needed them too. Did you mention you can adjust the height to whatever you want? It wasn’t just a point load. It was also a dynamic load, which greatly increases the effective weight of the beam. I converted to steel trestles a few years ago, but couldn’t part with my four wooden ones, which were fifty years old. Help came when a lady adopted them for rustic garden features, (plant pot stands), so my mind is at rest, knowing that my trestles are in good care and at peace. They deserve their retirement home after a lifetime of supporting me.

Really nice to have your reply, Del. Don’t allow that fork lift driver anywhere near your coffin or your trestles. A tall stiff body acts very much like a beam. The big take away from your channel is positivity and standards, aspects that can too often be defeated in the building trades environment. So would you say the ideal "power tool height" saw horse is around hip to waist level? I use a pair of the super minimal Stanley ones, they just have a square bar for the top which is the same profile as the legs. Fairly lightweight and they clip together to store very neatly. I work out of a Peugeot Partner van so that's important for me.

The original Toughbuilt Sawhorses advert had 4 of them in a row sideways & then a backhoe excavator lifted itself up with the front bucket on top of the Sawhorses. I guarantee they couldn't do that with the new paper thin metal ones, they would just buckle & collapse. Don't get me wrong, I still really like these stalls but the build quality is not even close to what they used to be.
