They are probably desperately trying to boost the sales of the new OP-1, I would guess very few people got convinced of the upgrade, and new buyers are even more scared than before due to the current situation in the world. They did a great job on calling you to do a video on it, because this is the best OP-1F video I have seen so far, it was an amazing demonstration of what it can do.

@@Hainbach I bought the original less than a year before the Field came out, discovered how much I liked using it as a multitrack tape recorder except for the pops and clicks in the firmware at the time, and being mono - dismissed the Field and then upgraded. The stereo and sound quality are massive upgrades - luckily at the time I was in a position where I could upgrade. But yeah the mounting option change is very very strange. The original as you say had screw holes and could properly be secured - the Field has velcro. Really weird. I can only assume those deep screw holes were removed to make room for internal changes - the built in speaker is night and day different and quite usable on the Feild, very tinny on the original. You're totally right though - the original looks WAY better, and they've even removed some of the button labels for shift functions on the Field, although those features are still there. Pretty odd choices.

Not for free - that is a misconception. The OP-1 was payment for making a giveaway and announcing it in a video with the sponsor. Sure, they had no input on the video except from including the announcement, but it’s still a lot of work. I could have done a much simpler video, but instead I used this opportunity to test it under real life circumstances.
