The Tower behind the ''Haunted Mansion'' at Ano Lechonia-Urbex (English subtitles)

When we first time visited the ''Kontou Residence'' at Ano Lechonia, the first thing that captured my attention was that Tower! It was a matter of time to come back and make a video about this building!
It was built at 17th-18th Century. First the South part of the Tower. This Tower was always in Greek hands, opposite to the other Towers of Lechonia that originally belonged the Othomans.
It was built by Alatza or Atlaza who was Rusiian embassador. It took him a long time to finish the construction.
The original part, h ad twin walls thick up to 1.80 m. The newest edition had walls thick up to 0,80 cm. There are two entrances. The West Arched door with circular steps and the North Door with outdoor stair that leads to the 1st floor.
The upper floor has been rebuilt.
In general the Tower as appears today, combines elements of architecture of the first building period at Pelio (17th-18th Century Fortress Tower House) and Fortress house in the middle of the 19th Century.
Next to the Tower at the West, exists a barn-stable and at the East there are the ruins of a mill.
The Tower was inhabited until 1970's At 1967 a thunder stroke the North part. Many damages occured by the fire but everything was reconstructed.
Right next to the North entrance and West, is located the familiar ''Kontou Mansion'' wich belonged to the same family.
The building is considered to be an Historical Preserved Monument.
