To think that scholars will dedicate their entire lives studying about the history of this place and this gentleman just summarised all that knowledge into a 30 min informative video, this is priceless. Thanks so much, really ❤

Well no shit, how do you think we were able to get it into a 30 minute video if we didnt have people who studied all their lives beforehand?

6:40 The white tower was almost certainly made 'white' by a distant ancestral relation of mine who was chancellor to Henry 3, the 'white wash' would have acted to protect against damp. He's in the patent rolls petitioning for payment for underpinning and various works on the Towers walls. His seal was buried in the footings of the old London bridge so a lot of construction must have being going on, incl westminister, chester and yorkminister. Nb: A lot of work was going at the Towet in preparation for the 'Battle of the Barons'.

This was a fantastic work, and something I've wanted to see for a long time. I'm interested in how ancient buildings looked throughout the years rather than just see them as they presently are. This was phenomenally done. Other thing lost to time in London that I'd like to see sometimes in the future is that of Palace of Whitehall, because there's so little of it left nowadays.

Anne Boleyn was not executed where you say in video - that area with current memorial is a Victorian guess-a-ment. Anne was executed in front of a large crowd in the open area between The White Tower and the modern crown jewels house.

Thanks for the clarification!

I believe the Queens House wasn't built until 1540, four years after Anne Boleyn's execution so she never saw it. She was held in the Queens Lodgings, built by Henry which were in the private area over by the gardens which are now part of the New Armoury.
