@@goodymob9638or maybe it’s true that they don’t get their money. You don’t find it odd that most 90s R&B groups of the 90s and even rap groups back then have all broken up from not getting paid? That’s all jealousy or people not getting paid?

@MrBlytheville I used to produce concerts in the 80-90s, so I knew a lot of groups. And the things that contributed to a lot of them breaking up was, splitting of the money, egos, and jealousy. You have to remember how young we were, we were in our early 20s.

Teddy Riley was doing what Gene Griffin did to Guy. The reason he's only worth $3 million is because he signed over his publishing to Gene Griffin a day after signing to Uptown Records. Majority of the songs he's credited for doing in the 90s, he actually didn't write or produce. He had ghostwriters and ghost producers, Willie "Mucho" Scott, Pharell Williams, Allstar, and Sprague "Doogie" Williams. He wanted to add Rodney"Darkchild" Jerkins to his team of ghostwriters/producers, but Rodney's father said $5,000 per song wasn't enough and countered it for $17,000. Teddy declined it. Even Timmy Gatling (original member & co-founder of Guy), said Teddy was given credit to the songs he (Timmy) wrote and produced after getting kicked out of Guy (for not signing Gene's contract). Timmy was the main writer on Guy's debut album. He is also the only member of Guy to own all of his publishing and Masters, because he didn't sign Gene Griffin's contract.

0:16 If you're gonna tell it, tell it. Teddy Riley in the beginning of the video - who are you talking about? Who had control? Are you saying Dave Hollister, the singer for the "first hit" (Before I let you Go went to #7 on the chart) was jealous of someone and wanted them out? Or someone else in control wanted Dave out? Teddy and Dave would be the only two with any "control" due to talent. So I assume he means Dave got a big head? 0:28 Who started to act differently towards "Levi and myself"? Who was speaking here? Chauncey talking about Dave? 1:18: Dave Hollister is speaking about having secret meetings without Teddy and someone going back and telling Teddy whom they saw as the leader of the group. Why were they acting without Teddy? Without Teddy, they didn't have anything - he helped create an entire GENRE. So it looks like Chauncy Hannibal was the problem? The original members of the R&B group Blackstreet were Teddy Riley, Chauncey "Black" Hannibal, Levi Little, and Dave Hollister. 5:00 OK, if you say Teddy don't want no one else to get shine and No Diggity was "your song", and Teddy made it into a hit and didn't give you credit, that's not quite right: the song is written by Teddy Riley, Chauncey Hannibal, Lynise Walters, Andre Young, William Stewart, Bill Withers, Richard Vick with Teddy RileyWilliam "Skylz" Stewart producers - Hollister is nowhere listed. So if you feel like you want to make decisions and do your own thing. WHERE ARE YOU NOW? When the group broke up, you talked like you could be successful making decisions. Where's your solo career? Your new group? Teddy went on to more greatness on his own - so maybe it was best to let him make decisions. 7:32 So Teddy blames Chauncy for breaking up the group because Hollister wanted more money and Chauncy said no way. And to this day, Teddy Riley is holding out for what reason?
