As a dandy’s world fan. This part of the community disgusts me. Let me tell a long story I had. I Main poppy or toodles because they look pretty and they have stats good enough for me. I have 1534 Ichor and I’m trying to earn research on twisted flutter. As you can tell (from what I have told you). I am good (I think) at dandy’s world. But, there is still toxic people. I remember playing dandy’s world once and I was in a lobby (I wasn’t in an elevator yet I said lobby). But then I see people talking and in a line. I was playing as poppy when I was seeing them, I thought they wanted to start a run so I joined them. Turns out they were starting a run, but then, one of them said “No starters”. First off, HUH? Blud I literally had 1300 ichor at the time, I knew what to do from what I saw from humorous videos. So I just changed into finn and walked off. This was funny to me cuz the exact same person told me to join their group seconds after and tried to friend me-😭🙏

Whenever this happens I recommend clarifying you’re voluntarily playing as a starter toon and aren’t actually a starter cause it’s actually very cringe and annoying for the other players who joined the run.

Sometimes the “toxicity” is fake, I’m not saying all the time, but sometimes. Like for example, if you don’t want starters in your run it’s completely justified, sometimes you just wanna make it far and don’t wanna deal with starters who die quick, sometimes they’ll directly hurt the run by taking heals when there’s a Cosmo or tapes when there’s Sprout/Teagan, and sometimes they take heals when they don’t need them while another teammate needs it, or if you join a Dandy run and they buy, they could also activate R&D or Rodger, so it’s justified not wanting them, but sometimes you’ll do a run without them and people will call you toxic for it. Now of course, if you’re just rude to starters off the bat immediately it’s toxic, but simply not wanting starters in your run isn’t toxic. And you could make the point “how will they learn the game/get in a run” but they could host a run or simply join one that does accept them, and if anything going solo is a better way to learn because there’s no distractors so you learn to survive and there’s less people extracting so not only do you earn more ichor and tapes, but you also do more skillchecks meaning you’re better at them. I personally find it annoying when you say “no starters allowed” and they still join, they could’ve started their own run or joined another, but they chose not to, they basically said “I’m gonna annoy you in particular” you completely ignored their request, it’s like buying in a Dandy run. If you join another persons run and they do allow starters but you don’t like them? That’s toxic, if you don’t say you don’t want starters and yell at them for joining? Also toxic, notice the difference, if you start a run and say you don’t want starters? That’s not toxic, if you didn’t host the run or didn’t say you didn’t want them and yell at them for joining? That’s toxic. And of course some examples you showed are toxic, like those two birthday Goobs at 1:14, those guys were rude to Poppy immediately, like instantly, they weren’t nice before hand like “no sorry you can’t join” it was just immediate yelling and toxicity, but some of them are bad, like for example, I remember in one of those videos you showed, the person saw that they didn’t want starters, and specifically chose to join their run and got surprised when they were mad, it’s basically like buying in a Dandy run. And Boxten and Poppy aren’t bad toons, Boxten especially is good, the problem is that no pros actually use it very often, so if you see a Boxten or Poppy with a main trinket you should let them in, because they’re most likely experienced. And sometimes people will be fake starters, where they become a main if someone lets them in but be a starter in lobby, this is a bad idea, you see the people that don’t let you In don’t really care about losing you, no one does, and if you be a main it could be bad for the team, for example if you become Pebble the other Distractor(s) become useless, or if they already have that main you’d be more useful if you were a unique toon, like for example two Sprouts make the healing more expensive and you earn less tapes. I absolutely agree with the last two chapters you made though, about the “art” and the bad teammates, like if you choose to be Cosmo but choose not to heal, why play him? Or if you’re an extracting distractor and you don’t give a heads up, no one even gives a reason to extract as a distractor and on top of that they don’t give a heads up, this means you think you have more distractors than you actually do. In conclusion, your video has half good point half alright points, with some of them it’s taken out of context and with some you’re just correct, but I think sometimes the fandom has fake toxic things, before calling something toxic think about it for a long time, like for example, starters can start their own runs, don’t call people toxic for not wanting starters in the run, it’s pretty much the same as a Dandy run, you don’t call people toxic for that do you? And you should be nice and let starters down gently if you don’t want them, if they don’t listen and still join? Be as toxic as you want. Btw, I think the “we were all starters at some point” argument isn’t very good, have you ever looked back at your past self and just not like who you were or just think you were cringe or something? Yeah, just because you were that thing in the past doesn’t mean you need to like it in the present.

I was playing a run with a few other players as Poppy when I joined (I’m quite new, btw) so I was running around, avoiding twisters and grabbing capsules, picking up items as I went, I didn’t say too much compared to some of the other players in the run. I read the chat and it said ‘I wish the worst for you poppy’ (I’m the only poppy in the run) and I just typed ‘what did I do’ because I was new, and probably unaware of some mistakes I made on previous floors. Then the same player typed ‘ten more years of eternal torment for poppy’. I got killed that floor, and I left due to how fed up I was. Even that player alone makes me want to take a break before I play again, and I was just on a longer period of not playing.

I play Dandy's World a lot and I usually do main character only runs. (Main characters are the best Toons in the game.) However, I do NOT hate starters/ppl without main Toons, and I do NOT find it okay in any way to be toxic to them. If I am not doing a main run I'm usually playing with my friends, doing challenge runs, OR helping new ppl out! And yes, they do indeed have potential, as I got to floor 22 with a group of mainly new players. Yes, I was distracting, but they could still avoid Twisteds on their own! The reason I usually do main character runs is because I want them for their abilities, not just their skill! (Trust me, I've seen some new players who are better than people with main characters.) Funny bonus story because why not! So, I went in a NORMAL RUN (All Toons should be allowed in normal runs) and this Poppy was getting hated on by this toxic player and wanted them to leave DESPITE THERE BEING ROOM FOR THE POPPY. THAT'S RIGHT, THEY WOULD RATHER HAVE ONE LESS TEAMMATE THAN A POPPY. Okay, anyways, when asked why they don't like Poppys, the person said it was because they always died floor 1. THEN THEY PROCEEDED TO DIE BEFORE FLOOR 1 WAS OVER AND THE POPPY WAS STILL ALIVE. (I just found it crazy how they were complaining about how Poppys die floor 1 to then die floor 1 themselves.) Yes, I agree the Dandy's World community is very toxic, but I think it can still be saved, as I've seen a lot of kind players!

In my opinion, I think dandy’s world isn’t a toxic game and was never intended to be one but the people who play the game make it toxic. Poppy was my starter toon and I could still be able to do things without dying, people make boxten and poppy a big deal when they are just toons and not real so there’s no reason to be saying “no boxten or poppy allowed”. Most of the time, I’d say people always decide to bring the twisteds to other people but when half the time the distractor doesn’t want to distract for some reason and half the team dies. (‼️LONG COMMENT WARNING‼️) Ok, don’t threaten me or like idk dox me (those are usually the outcomes of making these) but in defense of the “Pro runs” and “Main only runs”: They are just trying to find players on their same level without any problems. They’re just making rules to make sure people that they meet their level of skill with no hardships. I have seen many of these runs of where the creators of the run are actually very fond and say “sorry” to those who either: -don’t realize the rules of the run. -trying to get rage bait (for example turning into a main after asking to join as a starter, this has happen to me and yet me nor the rest of my team didn’t gaf) -trying to sabotage the run by continuously joining The people are just trying to find better players (who can’t use things such as Discord, like me), as a decent player myself it’s hard finding other people and private servers don’t really work when it comes to me either. One time me and my friends were trying to make a pro run (with our friend group in a public server) so we decide to use the nominee strategy, and pick out who we allowed to join, this one Vee kept pestering us and trying to join us and said “just do a private server!” When they’re the ones causing the problem! Usually when me and my friend group try and do private servers, someone’s always late or afk so this Vee was really getting on our tail and it sucks. On the other hand, IVE seen multiple occasions where a starter ACTUALLY PURPOSELY knowingly we were doing a pro run and joined at the last second and wiped half of our team by sending them to a match (the team leader was very fond to the person and they knew it too +others), and they weren’t friends with the teammates either do they couldn’t join back. And they were genuinely skilled people too. We could’ve friended them if we actually played and got far. In my opinion, these troll starters are making my experience worse. (And yes, I have met actual skilled people in these pro runs more than normal ones, though respect to starters Who want to learn the game and are fond.) Please remember this is just my experince and everybody’s perspective is allways different

Here's my view on the situation: 1. Starter hate: It's connected to the 'pro' run situation as during nearly every 'pro' run(especially when a poppy/boxten joins and even when there's mains) people just die at early floors while the starters(maybe even shrimpo) outlive them and make it to high floors with the ACTUAL pros. 2. Shippers: The people who make those inappropriate stuff and toodles fanart should grow up and touch grass. 3. Other forms of toxicity: Sometimes people can lowkey overreact over just a machine, there's a Cosmo but someone who really needs a band/med takes it and ' born to extract, forced to distract'- the suffering of the goobs, flutters and pebbles who like to extract are getting harassed by noobs who want them to distract. All three of these things can lead to people griefing(which is leading twisteds to somebody) which is bannable. Let's hope for the future that the Dandy's world community gets better than this state.

I've only seen people be nice to starters ONCE in a public server. Never again since then. A Cosmo main started a run to teach starters how to play the game since there isn't really a tutorial, and it went well. The next run right after that? Actual hell. They yelled at a Poppy, both Goobs refused to do anything at all, let the Boxtens die on purpose, and much more. It really seems that the "pros" you see in public servers aren't pros at all, just assholes disguising themselves as good at the game when they really aren't. "Pro runs" die faster than beginners in a solo run, and I should know because I've done a solo run as Poppy when I first started! I made it to floor FIVE yet those pro runs have me getting accidental solo runs on floor ONE! Sorry for how long it is, I'm just really peeved about this topic.

My biggest pet peeve revolves around the “distractor” role. There is a reason it is not explained in the game and therefore, should not be seen as ‘common sense’ to distract if you have at least 4 star movement speed. It’s so annoying they blame me when they clearly stink at the game and don’t know how to avoid twisteds which is one of the main things to learn. I agree and disagree the part where you called some people “lazy”. It’s really just play style and please let us play how we wish.

I dont like starter haters cuz it's stupid, however when people say "abc normal run no starters" ...that's not toxic. It's just setting boundaries. I don't understand why people think not allowing starters in your run is toxic, because there's a lot of mains who only let mains play with them, and nobody says there's a problem with that. Main runs are exclusively for mains, and if someone wants to have a run with normal toons and no starters then there's not a problem with that. As long as they're being respectful

yap sesh you’ve been warned I usually play with my friends because in my experience the community has been very toxic, most of the time in public runs it’s fine just dies off quickly, but others you can get people who think this needs to happen such as playing as a distractor toon (pebble, goob, flutter etc) but using a combo of magnifying glass and participation award or blue bandana and even though you have these trinkets on they always ask you to distract. (most times some are fine with it but lots of the community are like this) Don’t get me started on the whole looey thing like its a new toon aswell as long awaited connie, a toon you’ve been looking forward too, but when they both release you go ballistic on how “ugly” looey is not even mentioning connie in the slightest like they’re so worked up about looey i’ve seen no connie discussions, i joined the game once gigi was released so i can’t talk about teagan or anything like that, but still. its a new toon thats it if you don’t like it it’s fine but keep it to yourself. i gtg and if i remember i’ll work on it more but till then thx for reading gn good morning good afternoon whatever.

Literally a few hours ago I joined around as Shelly and had the dog plush and speedy shoe trinkets equipped since I planned on distracting. The Tisha who was hosting the run kept asking me why I had them equipped and kept telling me to change them because it was “annoying/bothering” her. I once was in a run while i had distractor trinkets but i wanted to extract bc im horrible at distracting. I forgot to change my trinkets. I was Looey, and the server hated me bc i had distractor trinkets. Distracting was not even a thing when Dandys world came out.... In that server only 1 person started comforting me, a Rodger asked me to give me a band, but once i got up to him, he just took it with him for no reason?? I just wish these people just put starter toons in their runs, I always do because i wanna be on the nice side of the community, even i have every non-main, like, put starter toons in your run, that way you can get your players quick.

@@sillyyali exactly! once I was doing a run with friends (I think, but I do remember it was in a public server) and I believe it was a boxten who came up to us, and followed us. I asked him to leave and thankfully he did, but at the last second he joins my friends and I wanted to snap, I find it VERY rude, maybe disrespectful, for not leaving when asked, it is a massive problem and that's why I'm not big on starters joining my runs as I really look to get to a high floor but only make it to floor 7 most of the time due to the lack of supporters, distractors, extractors, etc. then it was actually just yesterday me and my friends wanted to do a pro run and I wanted to go around inviting individuals based on what toons we needed (pebbs, tisha, astro, etc.), one of them didn't know/wasn't listening and hosted a run twice (just noticed it was actually a protect the shrimpo run when this happened except when we were swarmed), and we were swarmed with boxtens, poppys, scraps, etc. and it was chaos, but the first time we did is when a toodles joined, now I was already upset at this but the moment my friends pointed out that this toodles was wearing the BRICK, oh this run was so over, we all agreed that if the run sucked we would do a priv server, that is exactly what happened. this.. toodles.. I was the shrimpo for the protect the shrimpo, now we found a bandage and my friend who was playing as Cosmo told me to grab it, but I told him he needed it when the same toodles came up and proceeded to take it and then say "lol" and I was MAD, so were my friends for reasonable reasons, we did leave and do a pro run in a priv server where our 2 pebbles died to tw pebbs in a blackout (I did get him again but I kinda had to solo the floor, I did survive!) but we ended up reaching floor 14, so it did work out but still, there are runs people wont get to join, if you are excluded then please leave, don't try to continulously join, please.

Honestly I like the exploiters, I'd never report them. They're really funny and yeah, sometimes they help the team out. One time I was in a run and someone was exploiting as Shrimpo and distracting the twisteds. Funny af considering Shrimpo is not a distracting toon by any means but was very helpful.
