It is meaningful in a way that shows, that both Kakashi and Obito are cought in reliving the memories of their happy childhood because of their trauma. They live their present and their past at the same time. Their minds are endlessly looping in the circle of Sansara, incorporating the past in their present.

Obito didn't become evil because Rin died. He became Tobi because of the flawed and cruel ninja system that placed Rin in an inescapable position where she would be forced to commit suicide. Rin wasn't just his crush, she was his support system, she cared for and supported him when no one else did. She was kind, compassionate, a pure soul forced to die through no fault of her own. Obito couldn't cope with this loss nor accept a world that forces good, innocent, loving, pure hearted people like Rin to die young. He sought to create a new world where people like Rin wouldn't have to die and Kakashi wouldn't have to stand near her grave apologizing and living with regret and pain. He said this much to Kakashi during their battle. The world he saw as a literal hell led him down the path he walked.

Kakashi and Obito have views of the world that are reflected in their ninjutsu. Kakashi is more grounded and in line with reality, unwavering and adapting, like Earth Style. Obito has a warped view of a reality that is hideous, burning, death-ridden and devoid of light, a Hell-like realm, like Fire Style. I actually hated Obito for one thing, severing off the past, because I value memory above all else and without memory, without a past, no one can be a human being anymore.

@mashedpotato3291 Жыл бұрын
Let's be honest. Obito didn't really want to kill Kakashi in that war arc. He seems like he tried to avoid fighting Kakashi, just injured him here and there superficially and sent him into Kamui dimension. The 1st time he absorbed Kakashi into Kamui dimension himself and the 2nd time he tried to absorb Kakashi again but Naruto prevented it from happening. 3rd time was Kurama's doing and 4th time when he dragged Kakashi together into their Kamui dimension. he tried to persuade Kakashi into his tsukiyomi project. In their hand-to-hand combat, i believe he fought hard and seriously as it reminded him of their training during childhood and that made him excited. however in the end, u can clearly see Obito stabbed Kakashi in the safest way possible (no vital organs involved and Kakashi easily stitched back the cut). Afterall, kakashi is his childhood friend, and the only person left who has emotional connection with him.
@dimitrilitovsk2372 Жыл бұрын
I think you're right. If Obito really wanted to kill kakashi he could've just abandoned him in the kamui realm and he wouldn't have to fight at all. I think the fight was to symbolize their changes in ideology and so Obito could have closure to explain his stance on rin and kakashis future. The pain of Obito and kakashi is clearly written into their fight and their conversation. This is the best fight in Naruto. Not because it's the best battle but because there's so much context that only a fan of the show could appreciate this. Might guy vs Madara was my favorite fight in terms of battle, but this battle was much better because the context makes it tragic.

When you realize what he went through after being crushed and influenced by Madara you feel his pain during the fight. Kakashi was ready to take him out in which I commend him for because when Minato saw Obito he couldn't. I want to hold out hope for Boruto because in reading the manga up until now Kawaki and Boruto's relationship is slightly going on the path of both of Obito and Kakashi. Kawaki's betrayal is going to hurt but depends on how it's pulled off. I just don't feel that emotion with these new gen characters yet. After the time skip let's see how the story does. Overall great video man keep up the good work.

The parallels between Obito and Naruto along with potentially Houki and Kakashi are astounding like Naruto Obito was basically garbage at what he did and had an unrequited love, yet when it came to the war Obito just wanted to go back to the time where he, Rin, Minato and Kakashi were together happy. Believing that having the ten tails inside him and becoming a god was the way to reset it all back to his version of normal where Rin was alive and without Isobu in her heart, Kakashi and him were like brothers for real Minato and Kushina were alive and well. Kakashi and Obito’s fight shown how far gone both men were one was consumed by guilt while the other was devoured by hate

For the simplicity of this fight it does a lot it tells a story and made me feel the emotion of the characters during the fight while showing both of their progress as ninja and now that two friends have to kill eachother that's why it's my favorite in the series
