Barry Cook was able to both create Mulan and make sure he didn't create the movie next to China's Uighur concentration camps, great stuff Barry *thumbs up*

This movie has been one of those things that has lived rent free in my mind for YEARS. Ive told people about it, shown them the few youtube videos about it, dove into as much information as i could, to the point where I've considered stepping into youtube and making a video about it to get more people talking about it. I've lamented about it for do long and wished we could have seen it. Barry Cook had a creative and fun idea that I'm so positive could have made its mark on the animation industry. The cast list that was put out makes me even more sad since there was so much talent in that list. Thank you for making this video! It was very well-done and I'll definitely have to shiw this one to people when I (inevitably) talk about this movie again. I also had to edit this to add: I feel like the Success of the Broadway musical Bright Star, that Steve Martin wrote the book for and co-wrote the music for, that was nominated for 5 Tony awards ( including best score and best orchestrations!) As well as several Drama Desk Awards (it was nominated for 6, again including best orchestrations and winning the award for best music) AND being nominated for a Grammy award, just proves that bluegrass music does have an appeal and an audience- and that it's got a place to be in a story, especially with the potential to have a heartfelt story as well. In fact, Bright Star was a passion project for Steve Martin- almost similar to how My Peoples was for Barry Cook. I hope more creative projects like both of these are given chances tbh.

Treasure Planet would've been Brilliant if they had Embraced it instead of tryin to Bury it.

There’s a “buried treasure” joke in here somewhere in reference to how fantastic it still ended up being, but I’m simply not clever enough to do it justice

So cool to see such a good deep dive into this movie. I found the concept art online about a decade ago at cartoon school and became obsessed with it.

Chicken little was fine but I wish we could’ve had both

Really? Chicken Little was mean-spirited and trying too hard to be cool. And aliens? What does that have to do with the original story? And Buck Cluck is a terrible father!

Incredible video i'd love to learn more about cancelled disney movies like Wild Life, Fraidy Cat, The Shadow King etc.

This one and the one with a Hitchcock cat are the ones that make me the most upset they were cancelled

The fact this was cancelled for Chicken Little is just insane!

The only thing I remember liking about Chicken Little was Barenaked Ladies.

Nice video😀 It's a shame what happen to My People , but with the way of how things goes at the time for Disney as you talked about it on the video , I could already feel something would goes off for the project(especially with the usual higher-ups meddling) . As for the some of stuff we could see for My People , I think it looks neat and if it does release , I could see the project as decent movie with cult following as yeas goes by .

You've gotta admit, Chicken Little saved Disney. Oh, and I love Chicken Little as a kid and I still do.
