I just played Titanfall 2 for the first time last week and WOW! Legit one of the best campaigns I have ever played. I would love to see another Titanfall happen at some point, but it just seems so unlikely. I would also fear that with how predatory monetization has become in not just F2P games, but any game, that Titanfall 3 would succumb to the same issue as Apex: more focus on cosmetics and less on the actual game.

@@Optimalpax Conduit, the trailer has a titan battle (involving canonical misuse of a Monarch-Class by the Militia for some reason…) where she touches a leaking titan battery and gets super powers… yea… it’s somewhat accepted the Titanfall hype campaign was leading up to her reveal, but Respawn cut the titanfall connection to avoid backlash at last minute. I personally found Conduit’s reveal not only a spit in the face but evidence that they just use Titanfall content to bait us into Apex.

It was definitely odd it was multiplayer only, but the 'campaign lobbies' in titanfall were actually kind of a cool gimmick. Picking a faction and playing against people who chose the other, fighting for your story progression created extra rivalry.

Titanfall is the one series where we feel connected with the game. Frontier defense was and still is a great game mode. Because it makes you feel like you and 3 others just won fighting off 5 waves of enemy assaults and fighting off to defend one crucial objective.

Worried about the direction of the battlefield franchise tbh with the latest news. But with Vince being the new head of it I could totally see a sort of fusion of both series. Battlefields large combined arms maps with elements of Titanfall. The real issue being the map design allowing for that tight and fluid movement Titanfall is known for.

I actually have to disagree when it comes to most maps. Some maps are perfectly sized or slightly too large because in the end, you're going to be on your feet the majority of the time and not in a Titan. Then maps are still plenty large enough for titans to move around and battle although there are more restrictive maps that will benefit some titans like scorch a lot more.

I consider myself a titanfall 1 and 2 vet, and although I absolutely love the mechanics, the gamemodes were the downfall of this game. They had a great concept of contrasting fast paced pilot gameplay, with slow paced titan gameplay but they failed create a decent way to mix the two by forcing them into known call of duty game modes. Titanfall needs its own flagship game mode for people to fully embrace the game, almost like how the payload game mode represents tf2/Overwatch and their identity.

Titanfall and BF4 were my last FPS to play online. I started to have wrists pain (my doctor kept telling me that it was not carpal tunnel), but with the deah of Titan Fall 1 and the BR and lootbox everywhere, I feel like I would have stopped playing FPS daily anyways. I already stopped playing CoD after MW3, and BO2 made changes I didn't like. I don't recognize the online FPS anymore. It's just junk. I still play games, using a controller and keeping it to single-player only so I can play and pause to avoid the pain to come. So yeah, I still purchased TitanFall 2, but only for the single-player campaign, and it was worth it.

I blame mainly EA for the non-existance of TF3. Respawn almost did a new Titanfall game wich would have Blisk as main character and BT beeing rebuild, but EA didn't allow it. Its the same story with all of the other companies. Why make a singleplayer game that makes money once, when you can make a live service game that makes not just 60$ from the player, but 100s if not 1,000s from even an individual player. Why make game mechanics when you can sell overpriced loot boxes and skins? Same with fallout 76 , elder scrolls online, etc. These companies put a lot of resources into these games which at this point are just skin shops.

It truly is a tragedy that titanfall had passed, the bad release dates by ea and the release of apex (I’m still convinced that ea forced respawn to make a battle royale) really did ruin the game. The bigger tragedy is the fact that respawn is still gutting the decaying corpse of titanfall to get content for apex. Causing massive continuity issues and overall baiting the titanfall community for what is essentially a macaroni sculpture of the statue of David. Clunky movement mechanics, unintelligible action feedback (getting hits and downs or kills or whatever) and characters that mostly lack the charm, grit and overall determination of those of previous games. Gunplay is good if not limited by the clunky animations. I wish respawn never made apex as its own game. (All of this is based on my own experience playing apex from 2 years ago, sorry if I’ve made any outdated points)

I could write an whole essay about how good titanfall 2 was and still is to this day. Im very sad the game died. I played the shit out of it and even when i hopped on for a final round in 2023 i had such a good time again its just sad. I hate Apex Legends, too goofy and full of EA sellout bs. I know Titanfall 2 was EA too but they did it so different with titanfall2. It is a masterpiece.

FYI lots of people are also dissatisfied with the smart pistol, it's a broken weapon that made me and many others to lose interest in Titanfall as a whole.

Titanfall 2 was just an amazing game from a like casual just fun loving perspective. Something was there for everyonen! I just wish we got something with that comprehensive a movement system today.

Ive said it for years and ill say it again. 2016, we got what was arguably the greatest multiplayer fps game in history with Titanfall 2. With EA at the helm, of course they havent made a sequel because if the license was in any other companys hands, you know it would get a battle Royale mode and everything else you see nowadays

I know everyone wants to blame Titanfall's death on EA but it was also Respawn's decision to make apex instead of Titanfall 3. It was also respawn's decision to release in the fall but they made this decision before EA decided BF1's release date, so the argument can still be made EA had a hand in TF2 release date issues.
