Yeah but considering the players willingness to involve themselves with a murder investigation, any supposed prior knowledge of past deeds, and that most people usually have weapons and armor, it's pretty clear you're an adventurer or mercenary, and with that being so, his idea isn't a bad one. A group of guards with torches trekking through the mountains would not only take time but would be pretty obvious, as Raynil would immediately understand they were coming for him, but a single individual who likely isn't wearing any livery, instead looking unaffiliated? Even if he assumed we were after him, he would feel as if it probably wouldn't be much of a challenge, and wouldn't run regardless

There was no vampire in this quest if you put enough attention. In fact when you go to that cave you definetly know this is nothing about vampires

"Brotherhood" being the password that unlocked that amulet's true form is both cute and sad. Bradon may have distrusted his former comrades (for good reason), but using the one word that connected the three it seems a part of him certainly wanted to trust them.

Also very stupid, just imagine taking this amulet to the dark brotherhood, there is a very high chance to uncover the true nature of the artifact by accident, because someone would say the magic password.

Particularly enjoyed this quest on my vampire playthrough. There's something so cathartic about tracking down this wolf in sheep's clothing as a wolf in similar garb, showing him the reality of the "quarry" he claims to hunt.

I never knew you could fail this quest. I never thought that Carius's warning that the player only had a day at most to get to Raynil in the cave was literal as quests in the game never really seem time dependent. Even though I've done all these quests myself, I've really enjoyed your Oblivion videos!

About Bruma: does anyone else here play the game: Jump Bruma where you jump on to each houses roof in turn without touching the ground?

Yes. Urban acrobatics in Oblivion is quite common among long-term players. Bruma's among the easiest towns for it, followed by Bravil and Anvil. Cheydinhal is a damn menace, Skingrad is the "wtf even" level.

I remember wondering whether or not Raynil was a vampire himself the first time I did this quest, mostly because of the mentioned dead beggars that were found in shallow graves _before_ Raynil killed Bradon. I ended up reasoning that probably not and that Raynil just killed them beforehand and faked the murders as vampire attacks to establish the fear of a vampire in the community (and especially guards), before he marched in to kill and frame Bradon. Because evidently Raynil had to also visit the Lirrian house beforehand to plant the dead beggar in the basement so there's already an established methodology of using the poor paupers in *faking* vampiric attacks. And then it's also likely that if Raynil had been a vampire, it would've been brought up in the quest itself somehow.

The password for the Amulet is pretty dumb. The thief could have easily said the word accidentally near the amulet. Especially since it is the name of the group he was part of.

Usually Oblivions quests are well written, this is pretty bad, like how dumb would these guards be in real life to let this happen. I know its a game but this just stands out as a poorly written quest
