A 1913 song, with lyrics by Ballard MacDonald and music by Harry Carroll, this was famously performed by Laurel and Hardy in their 1937 film, "Way Out West." (For a week on The Seasons where we are talking to the trees.)

Yes, we can't have enough pine on the playlist. Great bring! I have this one in some of the songbooks I downloaded years ago, and I still haven't learnt the melody. One of these days...

Many thanks, Sabine! (Actually, it's really easy to play ... far easier than all the wonderful - and complicated - selections you bring us on a weekly basis!)

What a delightful performance with the pine trees in the background. The galloping horses and whinnying provided good sound effects! Thanks for sharing this Olde Timey song! It reminded me of bristlecone pine trees I saw many years ago in the Sierra Nevada mountains in a remote area of California. 🌞

Many thanks for the listen and the kind words, Charldene. (I have to look up bristlecone pine trees ... it's not the first time they've been mentioned this week.)
