The Train Beat Drum Groove Tutorial For Beginners

Here's an introduction to playing the Train Beat which is popular in Rockabilly, Country, Bluegrass, Rock N Roll styles. I included a rather cursory introduction to up, down and tap strokes. I hope it makes some sense, if you're not familiar with these already. I will do an in depth video about the subject in due course.

Actually, bluegrass is stringed instruments only, no drums. But I guess that's just a minor detail. Good video and good explanation for beginners. For the train beat to sound right the up/down stroke technique is essentially. That's where I still struggle. I see you have another video on fills, that's where I go next. Thanks for the videos!!

Ooh, thanks for pointing out about the terminology. Don't struggle, take it easy, do it slowly and let your hands get used to the motions in a relaxed way. Then all you need is persistence and it will start to come together 😁🤘
