The nose of the train is normally where the bathroom is in this model. It also houses the sanding tanks used to sand the rails to create traction if the rails are wet or icy. The creator for the mod did a great job.

The train crew is an engineer and a conductor. The engineer sits on the right and controls the locomotives while the conductor sits on the left side and basically does all the dirty work.

Underneath the hood of the train is a bathroom. Those little caps on the top are for sand. The door for the bathroom should be to the left of the fire extinguisher, but it wasn’t there. Awesome video!

38:20, that's a sand filler cap for the sand bins. Sand is used to give trains more grip. In addition, the bathroom is normally in the nose and the really long "snoot noses" were mainly needed for radio equipment.

I do know that companies set up their locomotives differently from each other. For example, Union Pacific usually has 1 or 2 beacon lights on the roof of the locomotive.

The locomotives in Beam NG Drive are based off an Electro Motive Division SD40-2built in 1972.The SD stands for special duty.the EMD SD40-2's speed is 65mph 104 kph

Ybr, do you know the horn blasts for the things the train is doing ? Well here they are. If you're at a railroad crossing. Blow 2 long blasts, one short blast and another long blast of the horn. If you're about to drive the train backwards, give the horn 3 short blasts and if you are about to drive the train forward, give the horn, 2 short blasts.

You know you can multi-track drift? It's possible to line the bogeys on different sets of tracks using the world editor and then drive.

I don't understand why every name on this mod is changed, is this a payware mod or something? You don't need to enter any lisincing agreements to distribute freely, me and my friends refer to these as SD40-2's because that's what they are, also if anyone has a reskin fix to actually get the real roadnames. Also the attention to detail between the UP and BNSF versions are very spot on the the real thing. Also there needs to be a way to make the throttle in 0 to 8 notches, in that case I would be playing beamng as an actual train sim lol

Btw, real train is called gp38. I think there are 3 kinda like different bodies or something..? Gp38, gp38-2 and gp38-3. Also, this train does not have dynamic braking. M2 is probably traction motor braking...
