I'm sure the new bodies will look cool, but it REALLY made me smile to see Kenny Bupps old 4th Gen win a race this year.

What a dick Paul Fix is. He took out that other car, probably for the season, with a stupid reentry, but its okay because his guy did a fantastic job building him a new car in 10 days.

Hey, I'm an SCCA official. Don't listen to the other guy. TA is tube frame, race born machines. Silhouette bodies (fiberglass). 900 hp. 5.8L engines. TA3 is production based (born a road car) modified to race spec. They are European cars and Corvettes (traditional sportscars). TA4 is production based American muscle cars (Camaros and Mustangs). The line is blurred between pro and am with this series. Most are club (amateur) racers, who race for trophies on most weekends on tracks all over the U.S.. At this level they are GT-1 or GT-2. The SCCA PRO level has had this series since 1966. They can then race for $$ in a Pro level series. Of course, only the most accomplished club racers run at this level. If you know about racing Mark Donohue and many of his contemporaries in the late '60's competed in this exact series. It's like a bridge between am and IMSA and WEC.

I cant wait to get a spec miata going, that is truest amateur of this. Spec miata opens mx-5 cup and then u have a few options to go indy lights or like this guy said, the gt1 gt2 series. Show u got talent and get good sponsors and keep them happy and u may open an opportunity for any TA series. Land money buy showing skill from the beginning. The cheapest is spec miata and it is SCCA sanctioned. Many places have local SCCA events all the time. Just google it. Some TA drivers have made the leap to NASCAR as well so it is still a very doable route if you have the skill.

We should have an option to shut up those guys and have only the sound of the engines.
