It's sad in a way watching this. I remember being a 5th grader back in 1986 and the year 2000 seemed so far away and futuristic. Now it's 2022, the year 2006 and 2000 has passed. I went from a kid dreaming about the future, to an adult knowing we don't live forever and as we go further into the future, I think more about my past.

Ultra Magnus jumping on top of the Autobot to take the blast reminded me of Captain America jumping on top of the dummy grenade to sacrifice himself. Also, Ultra Magnus is red and blue. Ultra Magnus = Captain America, I don't know why it took me so long to realize that. :)

At 8:09 I find it strange that this particular animation of Scamper and Slammer was brand new and only shown in the Secret Files of Teletraan II, and not seen in any of the episodes. While stock footage was used in every other Secret Files segment. The highways and byways they are driving along (a human city and not Autobot City) do not seem to fit in any specific episode either, although the background art looks to belong from The Ultimate Weapon episode.

This definitely has some merit, albeit very tricky to figure out where this would fit in, like you said. Background does look like it's from Ultimate Weapon, but if I was to guess, it might be from Burden Hardest to Bear. A script hasn't been released (that I know of), but "Burden" has a Secret Files after the episode. If it's like Return of Optimus Prime parts 1 and 2, it might have various dialogue and scene cuts, which would be enough throw in a missing scene. I'm thinking the Slammer and Scamper scene may have been part of the collage of Decepticon threats at the beginning of the episode, but was removed for a Secret Files insert. And I'm more than likely wrong on this, but it's all I got lol

In the original season, Decepticons outnumbered Autobots, had more lethal alt-modes (fighter planes vs sedans and SUVs), were bigger, were stronger, and could fly. Yet, they would constantly lose to the Autobots. Starscream had a point in questioning Megatron's leadership.

Vic Caroli more than likely just read what was handed to him without questioning any possible plot issues that he wasn't paying much attention to in the first place. I don't blame him as much as the person who squeaked that line past the editing team.

The 3rd season was no fun at all to watch. Including when Trypticon destroyed the Autobot Volcano HQ. Late 1986 was the most disputing & unhappy time when the 1986 movie came out & with the discontinuation of Super Sunday, Robotix, and Bigfoot & the Muscle Machines (without any full cartoon series'). I also miss Dr. Arkiville and Alpha Trion remaining in his robot body. Sooner, or later watching these old re-runs of G1 may bore me.
