the cast's shift in expression at the "orange-red hair, like a lion's mane" line (which is word-for-word how he described artagan in season one, if i recall correctly) is SO GOOD

This is actually surprisingly clever storytelling. I had assumed that Jester's story was going to be about disappointment, that the Traveler would reveal himself as Artagan (not a god) and maybe lead Jester down a darker path, more akin to evil chaos, and she would have to cut herself off from him and find a new deity. This however, I think is more interesting. Jester has the chance to shape the Traveler into a force for good. I've never seen a story in D&D where the mortal player has the ability to influence her GOD's decisions. She could sway the Traveler towards righting wrongs, and breeding chaos in the face of injustice (as there is a lot of that in the Dwendalian Empire) making him more along the lines of the Changebringer instead of just defacing temples and shit (which is pretty evil). This could be SO COOL. Really excited for this week's episode.

The defacing isn’t done with malice (evil), it’s for the lulz (chaos). Some DMs run everything pretty monochromatic, but I believe the intention behind the action says more about a character’s alignment than the action itself.

Jester is friends with the traveler Which is an entirely new dynamic for a cleric. I dont think she could truly disappoint him as he is chaos. Which goes completely against a cleric The mighty nien a killing stereotypes I never thought of half orcs as handsome and charismatic Clerics as tricksters or teflings Wizards as homeless looking Kinda wish we got jester as a warlock

I’ve thought that The Traveler is Artagan for a long time, so for the The Traveler cosplay I’m making I’ve been doing it as Artagan-as-The-Traveler. With that in mind, I’m embroidering things Jester has sketched in her sketchbook (list via CritRoleStats) onto the skirt of the under robe, as if Jester’s faith in and worship of The Traveler is what fuels his god powers and allowed him to go from archfey to god. ...I never expected to be proven 100% correct about this theory, but I’m so excited that I was!

I totally missed him in shady creek run. Since I had left campaign 1 half way I didn't ow thats artagan, so He DID help jester when she was trapped. So he does love her.

What if the Traveler NEEDS Jester to do what he wants. Because she started him off She is the source of his power and if wants to Change something in his power he needs to convince her to do it first. Reading this back, I don't believe it in the Slightest but I think its an interesting concept.

Artegan is a god. Jehovah is God. Lower g indicates an idol or a false god. Like in Greek mythology. Uppercase G indicates "THE" God. Understand the difference?
