I found a Traxxas TQi bluetooth module the other day in my RC stuff so I decided to do an overview and give you guys my thoughts on it.

FYI. The app has settings for tire/wheel size, gear sizes/ratio and RPM's to gauge your MPH. It also asks for what motor your running and battery size. Lastly the Voltage and temp sensor are combined as a single sensor. All in all I think if you enter all the data in correctly then then app can be spot on correct about the info it spits back at you ie: mph, temps, volts. I think it's a great set up if You don't mind doing a couple dollars at it and it's really not too expensive..

sure you know by know but Traxxas makes a clip phone mount for the top of the new controllers. i forget the part number

Traxxas now has a phone mount that attaches to the top of your controller. Traxxas part #6532 & it's even adjustable so that you can also use the camera on your phone to video your runs as well as use the Traxxas link...

The speed sensor can be either GPS or rpm sensor. Also you can change the tire size and gearing in the settings. The rpm sensor reads the flywheel. When setting end points or your trin select the multi function knob so your not holding the phone.

Yea they got a mount now on Traxxas web site that holds your phone for like 10 bucks. It’s pretty nice but my radio fell off my porch rail and it did break the mount but for 10 or 12 bucks it ain’t bad.

I got around that by buying a older, gen 2 or 3 iPod on eBay for $20. Does the job😎😂

you can get a GPS module and the x-maxx and udr esc's have in built telemetry so goes direct to the module and rx

I just picked up the one u said ur son likes one that holds the phone. Like you said instead of pushing buttons I’d like to get the plug that converts to iPhone. Only thing I could find is the whole docking station. Do they make just a plug and what’s it called and where to purchase thanks

I'm gonna subscribe to you because it sounds like you really know what your talking about. lol. I just got my x-maxx 8s 2 days ago and i seem to be lost of what basic upgrades should i get for the xmaxx. internals i.e. motor, servo or esc vise externals like arms chassis upgrades shocks but all of that are out of stock. so, it came to my attention that the remote control that came with the truck didn't have the 50/50 and 70/30 switch on my remote, so should I get another remote that has a built it link module and wit that switch? thank you much.

That is the diff locking switch for the TRX4.

Dude you are so behind times, all trx4 according to traxxas has built in guage for tip over and roll over warning system and you can watch it on your phone to tell the position of the truck on climbing. I don't remember the correct terminology for the dashboard guage

Yes. 20 cars, but you need the link in the radio and the 6533 or compatible receiver in each car.

On the TRX4 it changes the gearing between hi and low ratio (1st and 2nd speed)

You dont have to hold your phone in one hand and radio in another to adjust your endpoints. You can just set the phone down and still be able to see the screen. Unless im missing something like you have to push buttons on your phone at the same time. I dont own a Traxxas rc so i dont know. Just a suggestion, a pretty obvious one. LMAO

Neville Sidhu when i set endpoints i turn my wheel all the way to the direction i want adjust and adjust it from there. In which case, i would have to have one hand on the controller and one on my phone.

Neville I thought the same as you before I started using it. The screen layout for the end point and trim setting just seem crowded. It's easy to start leaning the endpoint and then tap off the little icon and make a huge change.

Mark thanks for all the great videos. Any thoughts on what’s going on with my sons radio. He has three rustlers with the TQ radio two of them work great and one will lose signal with the car. The car has lost signal being as close as 10 ft away. Any help would be appreciated

The Traxxas app doesn't work with the Android 7 or higher!! :-(

Did you get it to work? Linking the control to your phone must be done in settings (bind them) should fix your problem.
