Let us not forget that the Germans treated Soviet prisoners equally as harsh. They were used as slave labor and kept and treating in work concentration camps with the enslaved Jews also. The point was to work and starve these prisoners to death replacing them as they died. So no one should shed a tear over the above story.

annehersey9895 - Yeah, but how do you justify the murderous treatment of the Poles by the Russians, who also invaded Poland in September 1939 right along with their Nazi partners in crime? Who carried out the Katyn Forest Massacre in 1940 and shot 22,000 Polish Army officers and dumped them into a mass grave? Who shipped thousands of Poles off to the Soviet Union to be used as slave labor, where thousands of them died? I'll give you a clue, it wasn't the Germans.

And the nazi, did they have respect for human life? They invaded USSR and treated war prisoners in concentration camps. I don’t think the Russians had a lot of compassion for the German PoW. I am not defending the soviet regime but we have to understand the circumstances. Wars are terrible anyway …
