Thanks! Yeah and you could also tell how incredibly torn he was over the decision as who and who shouldn't be considered as an ally during the whole thing considering if would affect their saving throws so much. He just didn't have the heart to make that cut

@@JudgementFish I also love seeing what Brennan did here. There was a moment where Lareyn almost stopped, the events almost changed, but he reinforced her decision with the sudden attack on the ones she loves. Pretty much the whole series is an absolute master class in telling amazing stories in tabletop rpgs, from the players to the DM, but that moment stands out as "you will do this horrible thing, and I will give you a damn good reason to do it"

@@nicholasjones1713 IIRC I believe Brennan said that he was prepared for each party member to be the "the One" that brings about the beginning of the Calamity (not so sure as to how Cerrit's path would have taken him there though), it just so happens that Laerryn was the furthest along the path and needed that last little push reach the goal of her self-centered story arc and doom the world =)

omg hes so good at this, the rapid fire talking giving little information pushing the next round not giving the party time to digest to raise the tension. Pushing them to make impulsive decisions with no understanding of the consequence, the face palm by leran knowing she fucked up royally is golden.

Everyone was at fault in the causing of the calamity, (except cerrit) but it was mostly Laerynn and xerxus, sure patia and nydas funded Laerynn. Loquatious let her do the shit she did, but Laerynn and Xerxus were so damn proud so cock sure that they were a leg above everything the fricken moves that they could rule the world. Now don't get me wrong I understand this was the point of the show and I freaking LOVED IT. But people our here saying "Laerynn did nothing wrong." She caused the calamity, and even if she didn't and her leyline plan went through, she was gonna send a million people through a fricken wormhole that could kill everyone. She is far from a hero even if she did help keep the primordials away.

Either way the calamity was going to happen eventually, Laerynn was just able to make sure that the primordials did not join the fray to cause further if not much more damage on Exandria. Does that make her great no, but give her some credit.

@@LuvBaggage oh yeah definently im not denying that, the ring of brass absolutley prevented the calamity from being unwinnable and gave exandria a shot at survival. I just dont like laerynn and how mean she was all the time. (Mostly a joke)

Technically it's a prequel to all critical role, the calamity happens way before anything else in the timeline!
