My first animation!
This whole animation is inspired by a very famous fossil of an unlikely pair of Triassic-era animals, found cuddled around each other in a burrow. It was found in South Africa, which was toward the bottom of Pangea during the Triassic.
The thrinaxodon, which was a carnivore, would’ve normally been a predator of broomistega. It’s thought that perhaps the thrinaxodon was in estivation, similar to hibernation but during hot dry periods. Because it was so inactive, it might not have minded the broomistega at all, which ended up producing this beautiful moment captured in time.
The fossil was discovered by James Kitchings in 1975, in South Africa, and then later described in 2013 by Fernandez V, Abdala F, Carlson KJ, Cook DC, Rubidge BS, and Yates A, et al.
