Wow, without speculating too much, Asher must have settled the Mediterranean while Dan settled Europe. Dan is the I1 paternal haplogroup and Asher is the I2 paternal haplogroup. I found it hard to accept that Dan was both I1 and I2 since the lineages are entirely separate. Asher being identified with Phoenicians just sealed the case. Pr. Melissa Scott, the Phoenician genetic paternal hg signature is, T, G, R1b, I1, I2, J1, J2, E and B, basically entirely Mediterranean. How do I know? because that is also the paternal haplogroups often found in Native Americans especially in the area of the ancient copper mines of the Great Lakes and it's the reason they have an appearance of Hebrews in North America, especially in the United States. Now we know the rest of the historical record. Thanks for this information!

I didn't realize how closely associated Dan and Asher were. DNA confirms this since I2 mirrors I1 in Europe and I2 was indeed in the steppe regions. I didn't know that. Now I just have to differentiate between Dan and Asher.

Idk but I think the Goths (who ultimately helped to form the Germanic people, and some argue Scotland), likely having an influence on the genealogy of the British. It’s also believed the Tribe of Asher ended up in Europe too.

Please, what DNA findings prove any of this. That whole race of people in IRAN, IRAQ, SYRIA, ARABIA, LEBANON, PALESTINE, with the Y-DNA:J are all of the GOMER, PERSO-MEDES, CANAAN nations, which includes the Ashkenaz a tribe of GOMER. However the YDNA:R1b1 found in Europe, Germany, Chad, Sudan with AB blood types are most likely SEMITES from the ASSYRI invasion 600bc???? to the west under General Holofernes, in the book of JUDITH. A very good read.
