My dad was Navy. I went Army. But back in the day when this song was relevant, there was nothing more bad ass than being in the navy. At sea for months. Canons blasting, boarding an enemy ship in close quarters with a short sword and fighting until somebody gave up and surrendered their ship. It's unimaginable today.

This is the best version of "Wellerman" that I've heard. Did you know this is from New Zealand? The Wellerman was an employee of the Weller brothers, who supplied whaling ships. The whale referred to is a Southern Right whale.
