I’m going off to college in a few weeks, I’m 17. We’re in quarantine. And yet all I can feel when I listen to this is nostalgia, love, happiness, and some sort of heart wrenching power, remembering the days of laying in sunshine, running around with friends, and cuddling up next to my mom as she read me stories. May we never forget what it means to feel happy and loved, even in spite of the craziness of the world right now. ❤️

i didnt go to college... i got a job working at a restaurant in Charlotte, i excelled and made friends with my boss and a wonderful kindred spirit by the name of Missy. Ended up managing the ice cream and pizza side of the restaurant. I also met a customer named Sara who i ended up teaching art classes under. She had a class of second graders... i ended up taking a 24 hour train trip to Boston for my friends birthday and Halloween- that i dont think ill forget. Im 19 now, back in LA after realizing the gravity of life. I had a job for a while working at a school as an afterschool teacher until this october. now im kinda drifting. i wish life were simple again.

Me and my little sister watched these movies over and over again when we were young. She has left this life 😔 but when I listen to this and close my eyes , it takes me back to better days with her. I miss her so much in this life. I am so thankful for these memories ❤️

I'm 21 now! I officially started college. Have a 4.0. Have made some new friends- in fact, strangely enough, one of my absolute best friends now is named Diana! Like who on earth would've thought!! Anywho, I'm learning to be grateful for everything and using my struggles to help other people cope with them. It's so hard to believe that I first commented over 3 years ago. I am both the same, and entirely different. I just got an article I wrote published in a magazine, and last year I went on a month long dig in Wyoming! I'm almost crying now writing this, because I think the older o get, the more I realize that we always come back home to our roots. The things that are familiar and helped build our sense of self as children.

I'm not Christian, but Marilla Cuthbert standing in front of Anne, saying, "To lose faith is to turn your back on God." will always bring me to tears. Every single time. This book is so powerful. The music is epic and haunting, and these characters taught me how to live. When I am down and nothing will fix me, I turn to this book and this adaptation. When I feel lost and forget how to use my heart. Few books have afforded me such strength. I will love it forever.

I first read Anne of Green Gables and all the other Anne books by Lucy Maud Montgomery when I was about 10 or 12. Since then I must have read them all again another 7 or 8 times. I read them about every 5 winters or so. This 1985 Canadian production is the finest. And since the first time I saw this movie the cast of that film comes to life for me again each time I read the books. Richard Farnsworth, Colleen Dewhurst and Megan Follows will forever be in my mind's eye when I read. I didn't even bother watching later versions of the film.

For my brother and I watched the DVD,s and For me it is so heart ❤️ warming, and I loved the whole show, it brought to mind my wife's red hair and our life together ❤️, but now I'm alone and at 85 my brother 90. He too alone, but we keep life's gift working the best we can. A huge thank you Megan Fellows i loved your portrail of Anne with an E and the whole crew. Im 20 now. Still haven't gone to college but I plan to. Spent a good while in the depths of despair during quarantine and moved back home. Those dark times may have hurt more than I can express, but I've learned so much. Having those experiences has gifted me the ability to help people out of that same place. I may not be where I thought I'd be in life, but I am stronger than I've ever been and I'm so proud of myself for staying. I worked as an art teacher for a while, and now I'm working a cafe, and as an artists assistant part time. Even at my regular job, I wound up doing the display boards. I guess art always finds its way I to my life, as will it yours. I Hope you're well reader, and to future me, never lose faith.

My sister went through an Anne of Green Gables period in her adolescent years and my mother bought her the actual books by Lucy Maude Montgomery and she never did read one of them. However, I read every last book in the series by sneaking one book out of her room at a time. I was embarrassed to like them then, but now I get that it's just good literature and good literature is for everyone. So too for good movies.

I saw the films as a child and latched onto the themes of love, determination, etc. My longtime friend just sent me the book and I haven't read it yet, but I opened it up to one page where Anne and Marilla were having an exchange, and there was one line that was so dry, and so humorous from Marilla, I can't wait to read the whole thing. it's interesting that Marilla's personality came out in just one line, and how well Colleen Dewhurst played her. Marilla stole every scene she was in, be it with an eye-roll or sigh or facial expression. These films, books, music, stories are an absolute masterpiece.

My fondest memories are about spending time with my mom back in the mid 80's-90’s watching Kevin Sullivan's Anne of Green Gables. A beautiful story about "Anne Girl" played by the one and only Megan Follows. My mom passed away recently, and the theme song will be played at her funeral service and remain forever ingrained in my heart.
