Some people really don't understand that the original Destiny's Child was the best lineup. Their chemistry, their harmonies, their stage presence just blended perfectly. Some people swear that when Michelle came in that it was better because she sung more than the other originals. Michelle had more leads due to the controversy of LeToya, LaTavia and Farrah leaving the group. So are you telling me LeToya couldn't have done the exact same thing Michelle was doing??? Michelle had a different wavelength from Bee and Kelly. The original DC pretty much had the same sass and aura.
@msmichelle2196
@msmichelle2196 Жыл бұрын
Exactly! It was marketing by hollyweird to allow Michelle to sing more....I think because all had talent especially Latoya in terms of singing and acting it was easier to suppress those from the first group... whereas hollyweird knew the second, third lol lineup would never surpass Beyonce so it didn't matter who sang more or not

@msnoel10
@msnoel10 Жыл бұрын
I only slightly disagree with just one part. The original 4 were all rigorously trained in the same way from their pre teens and I think over time, the redundancy in their voice/tone/style would have played out a bit (just an opinion). I think the huge difference in how Michelle’s voice sticks out from Bey and Kelly made their songs more interesting. And they (the girls + Mathew) realized it and used it to their advantage in structuring songs, hence why she was always singing the bridge. Letoya could have probably contributed more, especially since her range is similar to Michelle’s, but unfortunately she was trained one way for so long so I don’t think it would have happened in that group. Both DC4 and DC3 have their strengths though ☺️
@GabbGizmatic
@GabbGizmatic 11 ай бұрын
@@msnoel10 I agree with you there. Michelle was a gospel singer, she had something and a train that none of the five EVER had. Her Bridges, could only be done by her and only her. The issue with the group is the others weren't training the other parts of their voice nor created opportunities to for them to adlib nor solo parts.

This makes me think about how Bey and Kelly failed to protect Michelle over the years, you see that Kelly had enough energy to stand up for Chris Brown, but not with her own friend that dealt with cyberbullying of their own fans for over 2 decades. Very sad.

If Matthew wasn't so controlling, his group would have a positive outcome that all of them could've benefited from to this day. The public wouldn't have animosity towards Beyonce. Kelly wouldn't have to defend herself against people thinking she's second to Beyonce, LeToya and LaTavia would've have lucrative careers in entertainment. Matthew forced his way into management, then forced guardianship, then removed members and had the press on his side. It makes we wonder how successful the group would've been had it not been for Matthew exerting force behind the scenes.

I feel like he looked at LeToya as competition in some way cause there’s no reason you’d have to intimidate a young girl when you should be a father figure. When you go back and listen to the background vocals to a lot of the songs on the first album shows she had a great sound and when he probably heard her on wax for the first time he made sure he kept her in the shadows, and since he didn’t care for her mother he would nit pick with her how malicious

I love the extra tidbits like the brief period of Beyonce and Kelly doing shows as two. Matthew has a pattern of controlling behavior, it makes you wonder where his motivation comes from. From wanting to become guardian of the three girls to forcing them to sign his personal contract on top of the labels contract. Matthew is somebody that if he can't control you, he'll turn against you. Sadly if LeToya, Farrah and LaTavia wanted to keep the peace, they'd have to let Matthew play them as fiddles.

The parents trusted Matthew & Tina Knowles w/ their children. They failed them all miserably w/ the exception of Beyoncé. They lack the confidence that they all once had. These girls all broken into thousands of fragments & most have had disruptions in their mental health. I am surprised it has not been more commentary about the abuse these ladies suffered under “The Knowles Family”. LeToya is very talented her voice AMAZING, her Acting AMAZING. LeToya speaks articulate unlike the one in the group that communicates like she is the same age she was when she started the group. I would love to hear an interview from Sony Records today since they now have the entire story. Thank you for this documentary! LaToya talent and heart allowed her to get through the storm. Some aren’t so fortunate. She has more in store for us! Beautiful and strong, when down with what’s tossed her way, she manages to go through it, move around or step over the craziness! I’m totally here to see what’s next!

This was the very first video I ever watched on your channel. It kept popping up in my recommendations and I finally decided to watch it. I'm glad I did. Your research skills and attention to detail are INSANE😭💯being a DC4 fan, I've always known this story like the back of my hand, but I learned some new things I never knew before. Beautiful video❤I often rewatch this one just because its so well put together. I really hope your channel stays around for a long time. You deserve ALL THE SUCCESS🩷🥰💯🙏🏽👏🏽

LeToya Luckett was my girl crush. I always thought she was the prettiest one in the group. I wasn’t Beyoncé crazy like everyone was at that time…and still is kind of. LeToya stood out to me especially in the Bills, Bills, Bills videos. She was and still is a baddie ❤

That crap B, Kel and Miss T spewed out for the VIBE interview sounds like garbage the devil Matt K coached them to say. LeToya or Latavia never acted lazy or entitled. That was the image Matt K wanted the public to think of them to cover his evil deeds. I remember, sitting in my college dorm room sophomore year, excitingly watching the beginning of the "Say My Name" music video only to soon feel confused and sad when I did not see L + L in it. I never liked the new DC lineup and they lost that chemistry they used to have. It's a shame how some people feel they have to keep other people down or hold them back to make themselves shine. A person who is secure in themselves would never take that route. Hearing how Aaliyah reached out to LeToya really warmed my heart, but I'm not surprised. Aaliyah was a lovely soul and the music industry got really dark when she was taken away from us before her time. It also became less about variety and more about only promoting one type.

@@shawnjohn7783 They did just stack Beyonces voice on some songs. I think Both Letoya and Latavia said they weren’t always told when studio schedules were made. Bugaboo and Jumpin Jumpin are 2 songs that Beyonce mostly sang. I still think they were on most of the other songs on the album
