I can remember slow dancing around the kitchen floor with my wife and small baby daughter between us in 1967. My wife has now gone to beyond the sunset, but I still have the memories.

@@SouthernStorm_61Greetings from Germany, near Cologne. I' joining the condolences, but there are great memories no one can take away. My first daughter was born in 1976, she has liked the Wet Wet version well known from 4 Weddings And A Funeral. This Troggs' song was my personal number one as well, followed by The Dave Clark Five "Everybody knows" which was sentimental and sad, typical of my personal life. The video is amazing and I am quite jealous, such a beautiful girls in the train. One can easily fall in love. Thanks to the UK which inspired the world with such songs, it was a bit different UK in those days.

@@godehardbrysch7905 Thank you, my Kamerad. I am fro Georgia. My mother was from Italy. Trieste. She spoke German, Italian, Croatian, and English. Greeting to you as well. I believe the ability to speak German is what saved her and her family during WW2.✌

@@SouthernStorm_61 I admire your mother, a true European, which we Germans were unfortunately not in those years. It's now so wonderful that we have free movement and so many nice people from Italy and Croatia in our country. I speak German, English and French, some of my friends have learnt Spanish, Italian seems to be more difficult than Spanish, A further reason to admire your mother. My two favourite love songs are "Honey" by Bobby Goldsborrow" and "Someone like you" by Adèle. both are really sad. Thank you for answering, wish you all the best.

Another "rock star" said to Reg that he believed you had to be drugged up before you got ideas and inspiration to write great songs. Reg responded: "Love is all around".....I wrote that off a cup of tea! RIP Reg. You were GREAT!

One of the best; I had a girl that I was totally in love with before heading to Vietnam in '66. Unfortunately, I got so caught up in the War, doing 3 tours, that I lost her ... and myself 😢. 173rd Airborne Brigade/74th Infantry Detachment/LRRP '66 - '69 But, in June, 1977, I met another wonderful lady who literally saved me. Paul Brown@ You should look her up, and see if she's single now (if you are), and see what happens....

Love this song. It was a little before my day...but learned to appreciate after hearing yrs after it's heyday. The lyrics and music. Love both. Reg Presley was married for the same lady forever, since writing this...so that gives it even more meaning, hmm?

I was wondering about that and couldn't find out anything at all about his marriage history. That's nice to know. So rare. Sorta jealous, though.

@@joeyricci3796 Thank you. My mom died one month before my daughter, then 2 more family members by the end of that year, then 2 more in the next year. None were Covid, just a horrible bunching of deaths. And obviously, it has been the hardest of all to go on without my daughter. But she has a beautiful heart and it’s my job to carry that for her now. 💕🐝💕

I used to listen to this D.J. on a small college station in New Haven Ct. back in the '80's who used to close his show with this song. ( He played the 50's-70's beat.,) sweet memories. Good show. These record's were a little hard to find back then, & it could cost U a pretty penny to purchase the album's. I had my handy-dandy 8-track recorder, & back then that was all u needed.
