Their 2 cylinder 2 strokes were unique in having 4 cylinders, 2 for mixing the petrol and air before compressing into the firing ones. Didn't need a petrol/oil mix as had a splash lubrication sump.

I have an old cot build by the Hounsfield company, it was in the back of a Mini Estate I bought in BC years ago!

Great film. The Trojan was designed by ex Leyland Motors engineer, Leslie Hounsfield. ,and built at Croydon. The twin cylinder ,horizontal engine, was under the floor, the petrol tank, under the bonnet.Very long connecting rods, featured in the design, which, some say ,have to actually bend very slightly in operation.

Lovely ! this had me smiling all the way through, though I particularly enjoyed what looked a lot like a 23 point turn. I bought a Trojan 3 wheeler in 1966 thinking I could drive it on my motorcycle licence but was disappointed to learn otherwise due to it having a reverse gear, I sold it to my older sister who was terrified in it when alongside a bus and looking at it's wheel nuts so it was quickly sold again while I had to tough it out with the weather till I was 17 to get into my first proper car.

Yes, the 23 point turn , so manoeuvrable ,bumping the car behind as he pulls out of that tight spot ,and the little gent doffing his cap as the traffic pulls away, I like the way you could use reverse to stop in an emergency, (the westinghouse way)
