Neze you have said it all.Nothing missed.thanks so much for your words on marble . some people think people who relocate abroad come here to get rich.but it's beyond money. its more about living sane and relatively safe. for me, i will encourage anyone who still want to move in their 40s to take the leap! it will take some time of adjustment but they will still be fine

I was born and raised in the UK, my husband came from Nigeria. It takes a lot for a man to leave all he has ever known in Nigeria to move the West. I thank God for my husband, he is doing well here and loves England more than his British born wife 🤣. I think it takes a special type of African man to move to the West not all can do it same with a woman. If one is not ready to be hands on and work in partnership they will struggle. You need to be flexible to thrive in the West. God bless you and your family Neze!

1. The status structure abroad is very different. You can drive a BMW/Mercedes etc & no one cares. You could be a doctor yet still shop & eat in the same place as your janitor. For men of high status back home, migrating overseas can come with loss of status 2. The workplace can be very emasculating & some men try to reassert their masculinity in the home & this often leads to marital problems

When relocating. 1. Don’t sell real estate you owe in home country . 2. If a business owner; if possible maintain business. Technology can let you oversee the business with proper infrastructure. Travel back for personal touch. 3. Make use of all opportunities @ relocation country to build self and family. It unfortunately that in our home country we put in less work than when we migrate. After migration I work physically harder the last 12 years that’s in all the years of my life before. Can say same for my husband. Just have to work as a team.

You're 💯 correct Neze. Same thing I say to people when this discussion of women changing or abroad breaking marriages...the only thing abroad does is expose the already existing inadequacies in marriages. Those already practising a healthy marriage will adjust easily and won't see it as such a big deal whereas those doing whatever they like and calling it marriage will soon realise that they actually have no marriage at all. Then they start blaming the location....which is typical as the saying goes "a bad workman quarrels with his tools"

Neze, I would like to suggest that you do a follow up video for our Naija men on on this topic. 👍 I think this issue is pronounced because of the over emphasis on women to be good wives and men are left off the hook on how to practically be good husbands cum fathers. In the Diaspora, it's adapt or break 😮

Glad to know that you are all settled and fine and as i saw team work makes the dream work. How a home is depends on how the people in it choose to run it. Your children are getting super positive influence from the kind of energy around them and the kind of parents they have and that's so amazing. well done mama
