@@silvermagala3461 It's possibly because you can multi-task very succesfully. The Radiance shoots various attacks at you at once, which require focus to dodge. Grimm, on the other hand, only uses one attack at the time, and while the attacks may take a while to learn, if you can focus on a single task at a time, you'll be fine.

Angry First, I know it was a joke don‘t worry. Still thought you might find this interesting. According to the Grim Troupe lore NKG wants to die. That is the point of the entire ritual. To feed the baby and kill the father. That way Grimms soul gets transfered into a new fresh body and ge can live on forever. So you never killed Grimm by defeating him, you did excactly what he wanted. If you just do the option where you stop the ritual by destroying the torch, you stop him and he should eventually die for real. But I really love his background, he is a counterpart to the Radiance. A creature representing all Nightmares that were isolated from the Dramrealm. His name says he is a King, but in reality he is a god like the Radiance. An immortal god feeding on the livings Nightmares. Burn the father. Feed the child.

Radiance and Nightmare King Grimm are roughly about the same in terms of difficulty,yet most people prefer Grimm. Why? Well, for one, hes not an insane celestial moth god that is trying to bring about the apocalypse and kill you 24/7, hes a suave, elegant gentleman, and loves putting on a show for his adoring fans. As for Radiance. She absolutely despises us, her hatred for the vessels and the Pale King so great it drove her insane. Throughout the entire game she sends every single one of her slaves after us, from some animals to the resurrected, zombified corpses of our own siblings. When we at last face her, she holds nothing back, she brings down the full wrath of the God of Light and the sun could muster. That opposite is grimm, he never fights you full force. The whole time, hes holding back. Gauging your strength, cause it's all part of the ritual. The Nightmare King knows he has to die to complete the ritual, and accepts this, but grimm would damn himself rather than go down easy, so , while he could choose to just stand there and let you kill him, he instead decides to put on one last, spectacular performance. So when you get killed by radiance, you rightfully call it unfair. Its not supposed to be, she wont stop, wont give you a chance to rest. It's you or her, andshe refuses to be beaten by the child of her ancient nemesis. But grimm, you feel it's your own fault, a misplaced jump, a failed dodge, cause he shows you what he can do, to let you better react and adapt

@@nicholasrg5910 don't know if you're asking me, but I mean Grimm, some NPCs talk about how the Grimm Troupe goes around consuming the last flames of dying kingdoms, though I don't quite understand if the nightmare king version is his true self, who he used to be in his best days or who he intends to be once he's consumed enough flame, I believe it's more likelly to be his true self, since defeating him causes the troupe to be banished. Only thing I'm sure is that he has some godlike status, since the nightmare king and the Radiance are the only bosses whose names take up the full screen when they show up

You cannot hate Grimm even how difficult is. He's powerful. He have such a good Boss theme. Also everything what he is looking for is to make a New Show that his people could enjoy. And also, he only doesn't want that for the happyness and the cheer of his crowd. I don't know about Dark souls 3, but In hollow knight, once you remember ALL the pattern of one boss, you can do it basically without getting hit or just 1-2 hit, Grimm was one of them, pretty hard sure but once you know his pattern you can dodge everything while giving him 2 hit in return. Thx Grey Prince Zote, that boss was a fucking Training for this game ( and i needed it), it make you think before acting, thinking "mm, i probably should dodge everything until i know his pattern, then i should attack", something like that

The same applies to dark souls 3, the difference is mainly that it can be harder to distinguish the start of different attack animations and also some attacks deal brutal damage, something that only really happens versus Zote in Hollow knight.

Fun fact: the only bosses with screen filling titles are higher beings. Bonus: NKG is the only boss to have both a screen filling title and a regular boss title (in Godhome). He is also the only dream boss not to give essence on defeat - though that could simply be because he isnt a DREAM boss he's a NIGHTMARE boss.

I love these bosses because you are basically learning a dance, especially NKG. You fuck up a dance move? You get punished. Learning the dance was one of the most satisfying feelings in Video Games for me, slowly learning when to dodge, what I was doing wrong, until that fateful moment when I execute the dance. Nosk was slightly more challenging if you don't use Grimmchild. But even before that he had only two attacks and a simple pattern. It was only in the recent updates that Nosk got another attack but that was it.
