I reinforced mine with a 3/4x72 steel black pipe from Lowe's. I then inserted into the original then just traced the hole with a few drill bits stepping up each time to match the size. I then cut the excess tube left over. I also modified mine by attaching a 32mm 1/2 impact socket to the none handle RT side by drilling through the socket and reinforced pipe then bolted it on. I also ran another bolt on the other side to make sure the torque being applied to the pipe is even. I can now use my 1/2 High Torque Impact Wrench or the handle to unload it now. People always trip out at the dump when I operate my poor man's Dump Truck Hack with my Ridgid Octane Impact 🤣

Very nice! I was going to do that this winter when I slowed down because it really bends bad in the middle. I like how you made it so you can use a impact wrench!!! great idea

@@rlawn LOL It works like a charm. I was actually going to replace the entire pipe and use a solid SS rod, but since I wanted to try to attach an Impact Socket I think it be to heavy. The pipe within a pipe works great zero bending and it can handle more than 2000ilbs easy. Lastly I only use the impact sparingly with lighter loads like what you demonstrated plus it's a faster roll up. People ask why I didn't weld the socket my answer is your trying to weld a pipe within a pipe plus the thick socket yes you'd be able to grab the outer pipe, but the weld would no be so great in the inner pipe so bolting it completely through on both sides of the pipe ensures you have the best contact plus I'll be able to replace the impact socket on the fly when it wears out. I'd say the hardest part is drilling the socket so a nice drill bench would be nice. Let me know how it goes👍🏼

Are you by chance able to get in touch with me and get me a picture of this
@johnny4713ify Жыл бұрын
@@robertblomme9114 Sure, but forgot to update my results. I ended up taking off the socket. With some loads sometimes I'd get a rebound stretch snap back from the sliding material so it was a bit dangerous to use with a tool since you could break your wrist if not careful. Same applies to the handle it can snap back and hit you in the face if your not ready and forget to back off the tension when trying to unload something heavy ask me how I know SMH 🤣. The reinforced design is able to handle way more weight than advertised and it doesn't bow the bar in the middle like before so be careful. The only other thing was I had to modify mine to fit my narrow truck bed. Here is the link to the video instructions, I slid the inner tube then drilled out the hole by following outline and finished with a hand file no special tools required. Mine pretty much looks the same. Hope this helps and let me know how the upgrade went? kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3mXh4uteLZ2qZo

When you grabbed the leaf blower I was thinking> Is that how he is going to empty the bed? With the leaf blower? =)

LOL I brought the leaf bower because I really did not thing this set up would work! LOL I'm loving it. I even get people at the dump looking at it and saying wow that was fast and no effort.
