Choking at lower frets means your neck has a bit of a back bow. Slightly slacken off the Truss Rod and you should be fine

Sadly this time the truss rod didn’t solve the problem, in this case this is due to a ski jump/neck twist, or high frets. I had to level all those frets individually on that area and then a fret leveling on the entire fretboard.

I got one , same colour, it was a bit clunky so I had it set up , plays fine , but I’m just a bedroom player / occasional gig player . Good honest video 👍🏻

I had one of these for about 3 months and it wasn't all I hoped it would be so I sold it. I then got an RG550 and it is superb. It was cheaper to buy that than to upgrade a budget guitar as every thing about it is better than the Jem Jr.
@l3wisgtr12 күн бұрын
@@JohnLloydDavis I totally agree, is definitely better to use all the upgrades money to buy a better guitar. To an extent a cheap guitar will always be a cheap guitar, I’m also having the same debate in my head. In my case I have some spare pickups and I can do the job myself.

@@l3wisgtr If you got the Jem Jr very cheap then I can see why you would consider the upgrades.

@@JohnLloydDavis I got it for 400. And I enjoy doing this things. Hoping you’re having fun with the RG550! Later I’ll post the results.

Bruh, u literally bought defective guitar, there is no way u randomly catch such a problem with strings, u can go to the store and again just pick up random 200$ guitar and there's no chance u can have such a problem, your guitar has nothing to do with the fact that it's budget, it's your specific unique problem, i never had this one guitar, but its easy to judge seeing how u described your problem
