@@ericporter831 you’re an actual idiot. there is a way in which verified youtubers (youtubers with 100k+ ) cheat the comment section. by commenting and u have a “check mark” you are guaranteed a top comment. or close to top. this person does not play rocket league nor make rocket league content. i’ve seen plenty of youtubers do this on videos that they don’t even know about. they just find something they can say that happens in the videos. comments it and gains subs. a lot of youtubers who don’t pull good views either will do this to help counter their bad views by getting ppl from the comment section to watch their videos. now you may say “yexzen he pulls good views.” wrong. he abuses the “shorts system” made by youtube by uploading a minute or less of a video which then goes onto the youtube shorts which pulls more views. a lot of people from tik tok use this strategy because it helps grow their channel fast on youtube. they should definitively remove this due to it being abused by everyone messing.

Doubt you'll ever see this but fuck it. I think this is your best video, if not, definitely my favorite. It combines so many elements that I just absolutely love. First, the quality over quantity story telling nature of it, not to diss on other youtubers, I love watching someone like Leth talk through a game and hear what he's thinking, but nothing on RL youtube compares to your ability to tell a story. It's the element I've loved most about your channel and what's kept me coming back. Secondly, it's just so relatable. Sure, you're better than I'll probably ever be, but the mass derank, that feeling where you feel like you just can't win a game, I've had that a few times in the 8 months or so I've been playing rocket league, most recently deranking from Diamond 1 a few games off Diamond 2 down to Plat 1 Div 1. Then just the other day I just hit that flowstate you mentioned, that either you also mentioned before in a previous video, or I just heard it somewhere else, but I just couldn't lose, the exact opposite of what I had before. I mean it helped a lot that I had worked my way through plat a few times before, but fact was I fell down there again for a reason. Just that feeling you get when you finally break through it, there's few things like it, and you captured that feeling perfectly in this video. Not to mention you actually have the balls to talk about your struggles within RL, dropping down to a rank you never thought you'd be in again, etc. it's just refreshing to see someone like that, and nice to know I'm not the only one that struggles with this. I just fucking love your channel for all this, it just combines so many amazing things into an even greater package. Also know it's been a bit since the move, but welcome to Texas man, hope you enjoy it here!

yo i'm ngl, this video kinda hit me hard. like, for probably one of the most down to earth videos you've done, I feel like I've felt this feeling a lot? I'm only newly entering the Rocket League scene, but even in other games I've constantly felt this pull of criticizing myself for not passing my self-defined standards. and I'm not speaking for anyone else but I personally feel like it's insanely hard to overcome this issue. it's so easy to create standards for yourself that you can't fulfill and then beat yourself up for it, thinking that you're bad compared to other people because when you try to compare yourself to other people through these standards, you've lost. and for me, I totally take this personally. I let the constant comparisons and self-criticism get to me in every game I play, so much that every time I fail I keep looking at the scoreboard just to show myself how bad I'm doing, even if I'm doing 2nd out of the server in the overall score. and the thing is, sometimes there isn't an easy solution for this. sometimes we kinda have to accept the fact that we're not doing as well as we want. but regardless of all of this, regardless of whether you let anything get to you or whether you shrug it off and play your best, regardless of whether you're surpassing your self-imposed goals or falling way behind, it is nice to have a win every once in a while. I really appreciate the video, Sunless. really makes me feel not alone :']

Sunless, I've been watching your videos for a few months now. You've been a great help and support. I know the feelings of dropping and then the highs of coming back. Honestly, I've been playing for less than 6 months. Only a couple days a week at most. 2 days ago I partied up with a good player and finally hit platinum! I'm 5 games into my rank and I'm feeling good! But not 2 or 3 weeks ago I was hitting rock bottom. I dropped down to silver 1 in 3's 😬... I just stopped caring. I was asking myself "is this game worth it?" ... then I took the bad emotions out and just played for fun. I stopped caring about the little things that were getting me down. I watched your series about why I suck at rocket league. I watched leth's road to super sonic legend. I played ranked ONLY after at least 30 minutes in free play every session..... and it's working. I feel great! I feel confident. Yeah I still suck. But I'm winning and having fun. I'll probably drop down again soon but I'll deal with that when it comes. Please keep making great content. @@akidim13 so there’s a thing called mmr rating and it’s basically a number that specifies your rank. And generally you lose more mmr when you lose than when you win. But only by a few points.

Honestly I'm struggling in ranked pretty bad and I'm super inconsistent like my 5 stags will go day or god phase, day 2 crash and burn, day 3, succ I put the game down then for a month and when I come back I'm in god phase again

hey sunless, vid idea : you put a pro in a match with only bots and tell him he has to blend in as much as possible while other people try to guess who the fake bot is, but its actually a prank on the fake bot. put another pro in the match and tell him to play just the level above the bot to get a reaction from the guy getting pranked (no one is judging the video)

Sunless, I have been trying to get over the hump to reach GC for more than a year. Without fail, I lose my mojo some time between C3 D3 and D4. I blame it on my eyes getting tired and not able to focus or I take a break and come back like I've never played before. Good on you to make it as far as you have. I've made it this far by following your advice because I do not have the eye hand coordination to dominate in the air like some of your guests. The worst is going back to Champ 2 and having to learn to play slow and gritty all over again. By the time I get back up to C3, I have to relearn how to play fast and fluid. I cannot imagine how it feels to play against professionals.

Hey sunless! This video came at a good time. I just qualified for the varsity Rocket league team at my university - our first match will be mid-March. But in ranked I’ve been struggling quite a bit and I’ve just been feeling nervous overall. Im excited to compete soon tho, thanks for some motivation :)
